Windows 10: You can now close your Xbox Insider account and delete all data

As a team, we’re committed to serving as stewards of your data as we review your feedback about various Xbox services and features as well as the Xbox Insider Program and your involvement with it. Although we truly love and depend upon your various bug reports and survey responses, we acknowledge that the program may not be a good fit for everyone. Thus, we’re updating the Xbox Insider Hub to allow you to close your Xbox Insider Account and delete all information associated with the Xbox Insider Program from within the app.

To find the feature, click Settings and then click Manage account. Please note that the ‘Close account’ feature is permanent and deletes all Xbox Insider details, including flight enrollments, survey and poll responses, ratings, problem reports (including screenshots and game DVR clips), program level, and XP. Once your account is closed, these records cannot be restored. If you would like a copy of all Microsoft data associated with your account prior to closing, click Export data or visit https://aka.ms/ExportXboxInsiderData.

Additionally, upon choosing the “Close account” option, members of a system update preview ring will be prompted to take a console update returning their device to the latest publicly available OS. Similarly, all games made available via the Xbox Insider Program will no longer be playable, and you will need to manually uninstall the titles from your console. You’re more than welcome to return to the program in the future; however, you will start fresh with 0 XP at Level 1.

The ‘Close account’ feature affects only your Xbox Insider account and will not affect any other aspects of your Xbox Live account. Your Gamertag, Gamerscore, achievements, and digitally owned titles will remain untouched.

Snow Leopard bug can delete entire account data

A bug has been reported in Apple's new Snow Leopard version of OS X that can result in the loss of an entire user account's data. The glitch seems to be triggered by using a Guest account and then trying to log back into a regular account.

According to multiple topics on the Apple Support discussion boards, the problem can occur when a user logs into their Mac's Guest account -- whether by accident or on purpose -- and then tries to log back into their regular account.

In some cases, users have reported finding their regular account empty of data, as though it were a brand new account.

Speculation is that something makes Snow Leopard treat the regular account like a Guest account, from which by default all data is deleted upon logout. Further speculation is that the problem occurs when the Guest account was already enabled in Leopard before being upgraded to Snow Leopard.

The problem started being reported within days after Snow Leopard's shipping, but the discussions are all still marked "not answered"

The only solution for getting the deleted data back is to restore it from a backup.

An article on MacFixIt suggests disabling the Guest account entirely, or at least disabling it and then re-enabling it so that it's a native Snow Leopard account. Another suggestion for those who need a temporary account is to create a new Standard account and use Parental Controls to restrict it.

Xbox Insider Hub does not appear in the Microsoft Store

Hi,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

Did you make any changes to the PC prior to this issue?

Have you signed in using the Microsoft account?

Are you able to search for other apps on the Microsoft Store?

However, you may follow these steps to check if that helps.

Step 1: Suggest you to run the apps troubleshooter to
fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store.

Step 2: You can also try to manually
download the Xbox Insider Hub from the link.

Xbox Insider App

Hi Trevor,

There are various reasons why you are unable to use the Xbox Insider Hub on your Xbox One console. It is possible that the app is corrupted or the current Xbox Insider Update installed on your console is not installed. To resolve your concern, we suggest
that you perform the solutions below on your console:

Solution 1. Power cycle your Xbox One console.

You can reset, perform a full power cycle, or physically disconnect your Xbox One console to reboot it completely and fix many common issues. This process does not erase any of your games or data.

Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.

Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds. Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

Plug the console power cable back in.

Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

Solution 2. Clear the storage cache on the console.

Press the menu key on the controller.

Go to Settings, and then select Disc & Blu-Ray.

In the Blu-Ray section select Persistent Storage.

Select Clear persistent storage.

Solution 3. Clear MAC address.

Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

Select Settings.

Select All Settings.

Select Network.

Select Network settings.

Select Advanced settings.

Select Alternate MAC address.

Select Clear.

Solution 4. Uninstall and reinstall the app.

On Home, move right and select My games & apps.

Highlight the content you want to uninstall.

Press the Menu button
on your controller.

Select Uninstall.
