Windows 10: "your device is missing important updates Select this icon for more...

“your device is missing important updates Select this icon for more info” Uh-oh. First time I have seen this icon in my task bar. win 10 pro. Running WUB 1.1. default configuration. winver 1803.xxx. Well I am not clicking on that icon. Anything to be concerned about? I’d like to just leave well enough alone but am concerned that I might need to get my hands dirty and do something about this. I don’t care about seeing the icon there I just don’t want MS to do anything about it. I think I know end of life for 1803 is this November. What if anything should I do to stay on 1803? TIA. BTW I did not see that icon yesterday on my machine running 1709. I guess they thought I was a lost cause at this point : )

Imaging Devices missing in Device Manager and Webcam doesn't working

Hi,

Since you mentioned that the said driver is missing in Device Manager, what we suggest is for you to check in the Hidden Devices section on Device Manager. Kindly follow the steps below:

• On the desktop, press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager.
• Click on View and select
  Show Hidden Devices.
• Check for the webcam under Imaging Devices.
• If the webcam is listed, then right-click on it and select
  Update Driver Software
• Select Browse My Computer for Driver Software and follow the prompted steps.

"Your Device Is Missing Important Updates Icon" Can't Get Rid Of?


I have gone into Taskbar settings and disabled this put it still shows up after a hard reboot:











How do I get rid of that puppy? I am loathe to click on it since we all know how touchy MS updates are and I have heard told that just by breathing on the update page you can trigger an unwarranted download : ) TIA.

 

Safely Remove Hardware icon missing

In the last few days the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon has gone missing from my Taskbar. Also, if I right-click on the USB stick or USB hard drive in 'This Computer' the Eject option is missing.
In PC Settings/Personalisation/Taskbar/Notification area/Select which icons appear on the taskbar I have 'Always show all icons in the notification area' switched on & all items in the list are in the 'on' state including 'Windows Explorer (Safely Remove Hardware & Eject Media).
Any suggestions?
