Your One Drive Folder Can't Be Created In The Location You Selected.

I have a Laptop with two internal Drives, C & D and both use NTFS. C Drive is Nand, D drive is SSD.

I originally set up my OneDrive folder and followed Microsoft instructions to move the folder to D drive and all was running well.

I recently signed out of Microsoft Edge and soon noticed that one Drive was now back on my C drive and syncing. I paused the sync, simply because there is not enough storage capacity on my C Drive to hold all my files.

I then attempted to get OneDrive to change the folder location back to the Original D drive but no matter what I tried and despite following all previous support threads, including removing OneDrive registry Keys, Moving the One Drive Folder in Explorer from C to D and attempting to re log into OneDrive from D, but nothing works.

I was up till 03.30 last night trying to sort this out but now I cannot mover any further and would appreciate a little advice.

I do have two step authentication enabled and wondered if this might be causing the conflict.

    :)

  2. File History - Cannot "Add a Drive" again after selecting "Stop using drive"

    pizzle101,

    There is a work around.

Create a new folder in the existing drive or you can select the drive that you need and share it on the network and give permission to everyone and then follow these steps

    • Enter File History in the search box, and then tap or click
      File History.

    • Tap or click Select drive.

    • On the Change your File History drive page, do one of the following:

      • Select a network location, tap or click Add network location, browse to or enter a location, tap or click
Select folder, and then tap or click OK.

      • In the network location \\127.0.0.1 and select the shared drive.

    • When you're asked, tap or click Yes to copy all of the versions of your files to the new drive.

Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

    No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

    any more suggestions

Your One Drive Folder Can't Be Created In The Location You Selected.

Turned Hard Drive into Music folder

    • Create a folder on the D drive and name it 'Music'
    • Move all the files and folders that should be in the Music folder into this new folder
    • Then in Quick Access, right click the Windows Music Library, select Properties
    • Then on the location Tab, set its location to the new 'Music' folder
    • When asked if you want to merge contents - Select 'No'
    • Click 'Apply' and 'OK'

If you want you can leave the music folder on the D Drive, or you can then click 'Restore Default' to move it back onto the C Drive

If needs be for the Documents folder, you can perform the same operation by creating a new Documents folder on the D Drive

NOTE: the important step is (5) do not merge the contents . . .
