Windows 10: Your PC did not start correctly(Stuck in automatic repair)

Hi,

I am a Windows 10 user. I performed a regular chkdsk checkup during boot time, during the scan of disk in the night, I fell asleep hoping to get it done by morning and had did not plugged the power into my laptop. As a result, I think the battery ran out and scan & disk process was not completed. After rebooting, <Your PC ran into a problem>, I tried all troubleshooting methods listed in Automatic Repair->Troubleshoot. But since I don't have system restore point, image recovery, backup- I am unable to boot back to windows.

Also, when I go to command prompt in Advanced Settings, in C drive(where there is windows installed), I can't find any directories using c: -> dir commands. I do not wish to lose the data as I am victim of depending too much on our machines, please help me out.

I suggest you to download the Windows 10 ISO and create a Media Creation Tool and then perform Automatic Repair.

Startup Repair is a Windows recovery tool that can fix certain system problems that might prevent Windows from starting. Startup Repair scans your computer for the problem and then tries to fix it so your computer can start correctly. Run Startup
repair and check.

Follow the below given steps to perform Startup repair.

a) After you boot your computer using Windows DVD or System Repair Disc, a black screen appears with gray text "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press any key.

b) Select the correct time and Keyboard type.

c) Click Repair your computer in the lower left corner.

d) Select Troubleshoot from Choose an option screen.

e) Click advanced options in Troubleshoot screen.

f) Select Startup repair and follow the wizard to perform Automatic repair.
