Windows 10: Your Phone app hijacks WhatsApp calls

A few days ago I installed Your Phone on my Android phone and on my Windows 10 laptop. Today I received a WhatsApp video call on my phone. I answered using my phone, and the video appeared on my phone, but both the sound in and sound out got hijacked by Your Phone and so I heard the other party across the room on my laptop, but she couldn't hear me because I was nowhere near the microphone that Your Phone was using.


For one thing, I was never asked to authorise Your Phone handling my WhatsApp calls. For another, if I answer a call on my phone, it should be obvious that I plan to talk on the phone, and not on my computer.


Is there a way to fix this without simply disabling Your Phone?

Whatsapp desktop - making a chat / call with no contacts

A friend uses Whatsapp from a phone. I'd like to use whatsapp from my desktop or phone to communicate with them.

I have installed whatsapp on my android phone and have connected the desktop. And am leaving the phone turned on, as directed.

I refused to permit Whatsapp to read my contacts, etc.. I'm not a big facebook fan and know that they share everything everywhere and sell it everywhere.

However, I cannot figure a way to make or even receive a call using whatsapp without using my contacts list.
Is this true or is there something I'm missing. On the desktop app I put in a phone number and it wants to search my contacts, which of course it does not have. After using "Create Group" same thing.

No way to make a call at all with whatsapp if you don't share your contacts with it?

if so, Whatsapp is completely broken for me.

And if so that's fine since I can use Skype or Discord just fine.

Your Phone App: Ringtone and Call quality terrible?

Windows 10 version: 1909 (Build: 18363.815)
Your Phone App version: 1.20041.85.0
Your Phone Companion Link to Windows app version: 1.20041.82.0

Samsung Galaxy S10: Android 10 / OneUI 2.1

It worked fine using my Surface Pro 4 but on my new Surface Pro X the Ringtone and Call Quality through the Your Phone app are terrible: Constant crackling, tapping whatever you want to call it. Kind of like coins being dropped.

All other aspects of Your Phone work wonderfully.

I've tried:

Phone:

1. Bluetooth: Unpairing the Surface Pro X
2. Your Phone Companion App: Clearing Application Data/Cache

Surface Pro X:

1. Settings -> Bluetooth: Unpairing the phone
2. Settings -> Phone: Unlinking the phone
3. Settings -> Apps: Your Phone App: Repair and Reset

I then set it all up again which went through all fine.

I've also tried:

1. Device Manager -> All Bluetooth Drivers -> Update Driver
2. Paired a Bluetooth speaker to my Surface Pro X. This works fine.

I suspect the issue is related to the Your Phone App and Bluetooth but don't know where to check next?

Because the crackling noise seems to be bluetooth related.

Windows 10 Your Phone app Calls feature now in general availability

It seems I have the Calls feature (still in preview) available for my S9. Possibly still A/B testing for Insiders.

It is the Phone screen feature that will only be available for:

• Samsung Galaxy Fold
• Samsung Galaxy Note 10/ Note 10+
• Samsung Galaxy S10/S10+/S10e
• Samsung Galaxy A30s/A50s/A90
