Windows 10: ''Your Phone'' app icon persistant display problem

Hello everyone,


So I'm having this rather annoying problem and I can't seem to be able to resolve it no matter what I try.


Basically, the ''Your Phone'' Windows app icon does not display correctly. The symptoms are:


1 Blank icon on desktop

2 Invisible icon on taskbar but I can still click on it

3 Unability to unpin from task bar once pinned have to remove all pinned icons using a command and manually re-pin my usual shortcuts


I'm using Windows 10 Home, x64, version 2004 and I am up-to-date.


What I have unsuccessfully tried to far:


1 Rebooting Explorer and/or PC

2 Deleting iconcache and rebooting although it has always worked for other blank icons

3 Running DISM/SFC and rebooting

4 Resetting app

5 Uninstalling/reinstalling the app

6 Resetting desktop icon settings

7 Changing the icon still invisible on taskbar


I might have tried other things that I can't remember off the top of my head but that's the gist of it.


Do you guys have any clue as to what this is about?

Icons from apps aren´t displayed correctly

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query at Microsoft community.

Do the apps work fine apart form the icons not displaying correctly? If so I would suggest you to run an SFC scan and check if it helps. If the issue persists you may run DISM command and check.

Follow this steps:

    Press Windows+X.
    
  • 
    Click on Command Prompt (Admin).
    
  • 
    Type the command SFC /SCANNOW and
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and hit
    Enter.

Supported phones for Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview


Your list confirms my phone is eligible, Lumia 521. The windows Insider App fails after ~ 15 seconds, restores data and gives me error 80073cf9. I trouble shot this and went thru all the steps mentioned on several websites including MS without any luck. Short of a hard reset, this is where I am now. Suggestions appreciated.
