Windows 10: Your Phone App!!

So I went to transfer some photos from my phone to my PC and found that even after refresh, none of my latest photos were showing up. Clicking on the other items available didn't work either and just showed the message that the phone/PC couldn't connect to each other.we cannot connect to your phone

So I followed the troubleshooting instructions to the letter

Unlinking your phone and PC



On your Android phone:

1. Go to your phone Settings > Apps or Apps & Notification on some phones >Your Phone Companion.
2. Tap Force Stop.
3. Tap Storage > Clear Cache> Clear Data.

On your PC:

1. Open your browser and visit accounts.microsoft.com/devices. Sign in with your Microsoft account.
2. You’ll be presented with a list of all your connected devices. For each, selectShow details > More actions and then Unlink this phone.
3. Select Start or press theWindows logo key on your keyboard, then select Settings >Phone > Unlink this PC.
4. Select Back to return to Windows Settings Home, and then selectApps.
5. In Apps & features, selectYour Phone.
6. Select Advanced options > Reset.

Once these steps are completed, go to the Your Phone app on your PC and follow the set-up process to establish a new link.



So I followed the steps to get this going again and get to the final step and the app states that there should be a notification on my phone which there isn't to allow the connection....My phone is saying "from the phone app on your PC select send notification. This will send the final permission to your phone".


Nothing is being sent, it just shows the blue circle going around and around. Then there is a banner that appears at the top of the app saying, "we cannot connect to your phone. Make sure that your phone and your PC are connected to the internet. See more troubleshooting options".


Both my phone and PC are connected to the internet, on the same wireless connection. Both my phone and PC are logged into my Microsoft account using the same credentials!!!


This is sooooo annoying....I have wasted so much time trying to sort this out, can anyone tell me If they have had the same issue and whether they were able to fix it and how??


I can feel the old fashioned way of moving photos from my phone coming on, just plug the USB cable in to my phone and PC, less hassle and takes seconds to do.


When this app was working, it was very good, but trying to sort it out, even with the troubleshooting help, when it stops working, is a complete pain.


Any help would be appreciated, I'm sure I am not the only one having these issues??

Your list confirms my phone is eligible, Lumia 521. The windows Insider App fails after ~ 15 seconds, restores data and gives me error 80073cf9. I trouble shot this and went thru all the steps mentioned on several websites including MS without any luck. Short of a hard reset, this is where I am now. Suggestions appreciated.

When my phone fails to upgrade I just keep trying. One upgrade took 3 or 4 tries.
