Windows 10: Your Phone Companion app connectivity. Ports?

Hello.


I'm using ethernet cable on my computer and WiFi on my phone. Both to the same router.

The Your Phone app works but sometimes it loses connection.


I'm not sure why it is working 20 minutes and suddenly get issues.
I have been googling for around 8 hours in total and think I have activated and updated everything from the phone to windows store and windows OS.


Is there any ports I could open up in my router maybe?

  Are you referring to
  “Microsoft Phone Companion” app?
  
• 
  Do other apps connect to internet fine?
  

Method 1: You may try the following steps:

• 
  Click "Search" and type "Troubleshooting" without quotes and hit enter.
  
• 
  Click “Hardware and Sound”
  
• 
  Select Windows store apps
  
• 
  Click next to run the troubleshooter.
  

Method 2: Un-install and re-install the app and see if that helps:

• 
  Right click on the app, and click on un-install.
  
• 
  Now, login to store and try to download the app again and see if that helps.

Phone Companion App not starting...

• Do you face the issue on any other app?
• Have you disabled the firewall settings?

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Phone companion app and check if you are facing the issue only on Phone companion app.

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Phone companion app and check if you are facing the issue

To uninstall the phone companion app please follow the steps below:

• 
  Type phone companion in the
  search box.
  
• 
  Right click on
  phone companion and click on uninstall.
  

Once it is uninstalled, you can reinstall it from windows store.
