Windows 10: "Your Windows license will expire soon" - Free Windows 10

I had a licensed Windows 7 on my laptop before. But there was an offer of FREE upgrade to Windows 10 so I installed it. But that was a long time ago. Now, there was a popup window that says "Your Windows license will expire soon". I thought it was free. Now I need to enter a product key I don't have. I already forgot where I put my Windows 7 installer. You should have not asked people to upgrade their OS when they are already doing quite good with the older versions. Not all people can just buy installers outright. It is expensive. Are there other remedies or is the popup window just due to an error?

I have recently factory restored my hp envy windows 10. Now i have this message "WINDOWS LICENSE WILL EXPIRE SOON". Im not sure if this is important but i have sent in my hp envy for warranty repairs on the hard disk drive. I bought my hp with windows 10 home edition, but when I sent it in for repairs it came back with windows 10 pro. Any suggestions
