"Zalgo" text in group policy editor

    Hello

I am currently setting up my new computer, and found very weird mangled text in the Group Policy Editor.
It is still readable, but it definitively looks like it shouldn't be there.

The only affected section is "Windows Security" in
Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components

The computer is brand new, the OS is brand new USB drive from a sealed retail box.
I didn't get the time to install things that could have come with viruses, not have I installed anything that should be able to tweak the system in any way.

It's readable, so I don't if I it happens to simply be a bug or an error with the Windows build.
But I'd like to know what is happening, and if I need to worry about it.

I also found this forum post from 6 days ago detailing the exact same issue.

    Hi Tony,

Group Policy Editor in Windows is a tool to help you manage policy settings. Here's how you can access the Local Group Policy Editor:

    • Press Win+R to open Run.
    • Type gpedit.msc, and then click OK.

Let us know how else we can help.

This notice appears each time the Group Policy editor is opened, and takes two clicks on OK to close.
    Simple steps to banish it?

Checked out this article, but was unable to rename the two files mentioned. I did delete them, however, and this removed the error message. What damage that did is ... to be discovered. ^_^ Files are in RECYCLE bin.

    GROUP POLICIES IN WINDOWS 10

You can change Group Policies by opening Group Policy Editor first. You can open it by following these steps:

    • Log in an administrator account. If you are already logged in as an administrator, proceed to step 2.
    • Press Windows + R to open Run.
    • Type gpedit.msc and press Enter.

After opening Group Policy Editor, you can now make the necessary changes that you want.

Should you have more concerns, feel free to post.

    Regards.
