Windows 10: ZIP opening problem

Hello After opening ZIP files several times a day from Outlook or other email clients, at some point I can no longer view the contents of these ZIP files. Double-clicking doesn't do anything and when I try to extract the contents of the ZIP file, it's empty. My only solution at the moment is to restart the computer. The problem is also occurring on other machines in my organisation.What can I do?PS: When I manage to open them, I can't double-click on the document I want to view, whether it's a PDF, DOCX or other document, even though it works at first and so I have to restart the machine.Im

Can't open Zip Files


The icon for the .zip file suggests it doesn't have a program associated with it. Windows does have built-in support for .zip files but something must have happened to that feature. I usually recommend the free 7-Zip for working with compressed files, helps in diagnosing where a problem may lie. I found the file on the 'net, downloaded it and opened fine.

Can't open Zip Files


When I click a zip file all the options are grayed out. If I right click I do not have an Extract option. If I click Send to Compressed (Zip ) folder it makes another copy in the same folder. What is the next step? How do I open zip this?

.zip can't be set to File Explorer

  Type Default programs
  in the search bar and press enter
  
• 
  Click on choose default programs by file type
  
• 
  Select .zip
  and select File Explorer
