Windows 10: 1903 upgrade corequisites?

1. Did I read that I must use OneDrive and
2. That I must subscribe to some Office version at some out of pocket co$t (even though I already own a stand alone version of Office I'm completely happy with)? and
3. Were the trade publications that said I would be able to uninstall the MS stuff (accessories) I never wanted like Cortana, Edge, etc. and
4. That after installing 1903 I would be able to refuse future updates, that Microsoft would no long stuff them at me with no choice?

Local profile issue after upgrading to 1903

Known issues for Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903


As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

Sound gone with Win10 1903 update

I'm Stefano an Independent Advisor, here to help you.

I suggest you to follow this steps once upgraded to Windows 1903:

1. Press WINDOWS + X

2. Click on "Device Manager"

3. Click on "Audio controller"

4. Right click on your SB X-Fi Extreme

5. Click on "Uninstall device"

6. Click on "Detects Hardware change" (monitor icon)

Then check if the sound then works.

 

Error 0xc1900209 during 1903 upgrade


This seems a little drastic because I have everything you listed running on the other PC with the FX processor, and that update installed. Can I run the 1903 upgrade in 'safe' mode?
