    Anniversary Updated Corrupt message


    whats up guys? im trying to install the update via tool that Microsoft has released cuz i did not get it through windows update. but when i do, i get the message that some files are corrupt and it could not complete. how can i fix this?

    Where have you looked?



    Was this JUST the anniversary update from Windows 10 to Windows 10 Anniversary update or from a previous OS?



    C:\Users\<yourusername>\documents <--what's there?



    Any message about a corrupt profile, temporary profile, etc. when you restart the computer (turn it off and back on actually) and log on (watch carefully...)?

    I previously used the Media Creation Tool to apply the Anniversary Update


    If the original Anniversary Update corrupts you are simply refreshing the copy of Windows.

    Ok, I don't know how serious your Windows 10 installations would be right now as you replied just in a single line, I have to assume that your Windows 10 has broken, can't log in. *Biggrin

    Here is the suggestions. Firstly, download Windows 10 ISO file and insert into the media of your choice (USB, DVD....). Use the direct download link.

    Windows 10 ISO Download

    How to Create a Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10

    Boot the disk and get into Advanced Startup Options.

    How to Boot to Advanced Startup Options in Windows 10

    Try System Restore and/or Startup Repair first. If it does not fix the issue, continue below to reset your Windows 10.

    How to Reset Windows 10

    If all went well and your PC is working again, use the ISO in the disk to upgrade/update to the recent build.

    How to Upgrade to Windows 10

    Note: Please read carefully on each of the tutorial, you might gain something or lose something.

    no, the problem is that when i run the update utility to get the anniversary update, the tool keeps saying that the download is corrupt and makes me try it again.

    It's getting simpler now, leave MCT aside, use the direct download to download the ISO.

    Simply mount the ISO.

    Then, do the update (updating or upgrading are very much the same process).

    When finished, you are on the Anniversary Update.

    Do you have enough space on your hard-drive? As well as the download file size you'll need plenty of extra space for the installation to do its thing.
