Windows 10: Apps Not Opening?

Hi guys. I think i've cocked up somewhere after as i did a Powershll command to try to sort out my random hangs in Explorer (ironically it doesn't happen now) but the majority of my apps don't seem to open now.

Most of them, including Store, are categorised under Other in the Start Menu and have a @ symbol in front of them and they don't seem to open at all.

Any ideas please?

I am also facing the same problem of conflicting apps since sw update on 30 nov 2010. I think that nokia should launch a new update for this.

 

Hi, noted you've had no replies..

You could try uninstalling them and reinstalling them. (See Tutorial section for instructions).

But probably the safest thing to do is an in place upgrade repair install using Win 10 installation media of the same build and matching your word length.

Safest is to make a disk image before doing so, and get into the habit of using disk imaging (Aomei Backupper or Macrium Reflect (both free).

Using disk imaging regularly would give you a way to rescue yourself by restoring your PC from an image you have created in under 40 minutes typically.

I'm assuming you have no system restore points (and don't know if these would cover your case).

Note that system restore will be disabled after the repair installation.

 

I know you said you had done "a Poweshell command", but you did not specify which one.

Sorry David forgot to mark this as. I did the register packages command. It's fixed now following a fresh install. Solved *Smile

- please do not try to repeat that Powershell command until MS has fixed the problem.. it no longer works and breaks apps.
