    Note
BSOD after upgrade to Win10/trouble "Resetting" Win10/ [IMG]

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

    Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test. Will do! Beginning them now, I will edit this post when I am completed with all of the above steps.

Thanks for your assistance with this Axeo!

I have completed the tasks that you asked.

Included the 3 screen shots of the HDTune program: full scan, health, and benchmark

I have a Samsung Solid State drive so I did not run the SeaTools program.

I ran chkdsk and uploaded a copy of the results.

I ran Mem86+ overnight and had zero errors with 12+ passes, unfortunately I did not grab a screen shot. If needed I will redo test?

BSOD after upgrade to Win10/trouble "Resetting" Win10/

So after a month plus of no replies I have attempted to reinstall window 10. I am now getting a setup error after downloading and creating a USB via the media creation tool. I have attempted to delete the old windows installation folders but it constantly says $windows.~BT is in use by another program and that I can't delete it. If anyone is still following this thread I am at a total loss as towards my next step.

Depending on how I try to do the reinstall...

If I try to use a USB/ISO created from the media creation tool
    - "Setup couldn't start properly." Please reboot your PC and try running Windows 10 setup again."

I have attempted to reboot and try again.
I have attempted to reboot to safe mode.
I have attempted to delete windows.old, $windows.~bt, and the $windows~WS (during this tutorial I was unable to delete fully the BT folder. It says that the folder is in use by another program. When using the program Process Explorer, I am unable to locate any additional programs besides Windows Explorer that are using that folder location. That is where I am currently stuck.)

When attempting to reinstall using the Windows Repair -> remove all files option, after the reboot setup completes roughly 20% then undoes all of the changes, and boots up normally with the BSOD - setup ran into a problem...

Did you ran the memory test suggested on the previous page? Faulty memory could be a reason why you have these issues

  7. Georgeous Win User
Yes I ran mem86 for 12+ passes with no errors

    I ran chkdsk

    I also ran HDtune health/scan/benchmark

I see it again, I easily overlook test results when there are no photos *Redface

Safe mode rules out the GPU, hard drive and memory should be ruled out too. Only once left are CPU, motherboard, PSU and cabling. Drivers are ruled out too with safe mode.

For the CPU there are a few tests, but they are not 100% bullet proof.
You could use a multimeter to test the PSU.
For the motherboard there is no other test then replacement or using it in a different system.

The stress test is running now. I am pretty sure that it is not hardware related. At this point I am just trying to completely reinstall Windows 10 (since that one test showed a bunch of corrupt windows files). I am basically pulling my hair out now *Tongue
