BSOD hal.dll+395cf during idle, youtube, or web surfing

    Hey all,

I've been getting BSODs from hal.dll as well as ntoskrnl.exe in increasing frequency the past few days. I've attached the debug zip file and also taken a look at it, but can't seem to find the problem.

Currently the only thing that has changed in the past two months is that I've upgraded my graphics card to a MSI GTX 1080. The BSODs have been occurring only for the past few weeks, and the past few days more noticeably.

I'm updating drivers and installing updates on every piece of hardware I own as we speak, because my temperatures seem to be okay, (CPU 52, MB 36, GTX 61) and I do not overclock my system.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

    :)

"Display Driver Has Stopped Responding and Has Recovered" on Windows 10 Nvidia

    Thanks for the reply.

The error happens randomly, meaning during games, while surfing the web, and while idle. I Have already tried the most recent driver updates and they didn't help at all.

  3. Windows 10 Pro 64bit BSOD problem DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (wdf01000.sys)

    UPDATE:

I ran SFC thee times and DISM once (each) and I still encountered three BSODs after. I did not turn off Norton 360 because I'm still trying to figure out how to turn it off and turn windows defender
on...also, windows doesn't exactly have a stellar reputation in terms of protection...so I'm a bit apprehensive.

Oh, I'm not sure if this is helpful, but I only ever get the BSODs when I surf or idle. It has never happened during gaming sessions.

EDIT: I relented and uninstalled Norton 360, and started using Windows Defender. I'll keep you posted if a BSOD happens again.

I would suggest you follow this tutorial to stress test your CPU:

See if that shows you anything.

  6. Hi,

Sorry for breaking in, but to visualize the statement of Ztruker visually that the problem could lie with the CPU:

Summary of the WHEA error dumps:
    Code: 0x124_GenuineIntel_PROCESSOR_CACHE - Cache error - DCACHEL0_WR_ERR (Proc 2 Bank 1) 0x124_GenuineIntel_PROCESSOR_CACHE - Cache error - DCACHEL0_WR_ERR (Proc 2 Bank 1) 0x124_GenuineIntel_PROCESSOR_CACHE - Cache error - DCACHEL0_WR_ERR (Proc 2 Bank 1) 0x124_GenuineIntel_PROCESSOR_CACHE - Cache error - DCACHEL0_WR_ERR (Proc 2 Bank 1)[/quote]
Can you provide us with the kernel memory dump please? Its located in C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP.
You can upload it to an cloud service like dropbox or onedrive.
