This one was caused by the Realtek LAN driver + Nvidia display driver
For the Realtek driver, check GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket AM3+ - GA-970A-D3 (rev. 1.0/1.1)
    for updates.
Note that the rev. version may be different for your motherboard so be sure to check that it is the correct one.

Have you in the past tried to switch the GPU from slots? If you have, what were the results?

[/quote] I find it rather odd that the driver caused this even though I updated it just days ago, I'll see if I can do a repair install though or just try to install it again. Same with the Nvidia drivers.

I've never tried to switch the GPU since there was really no need for it.

That are usually signs of hardware problems, buggy drivers don't occur often.

That is probably the worst thing you could've told me *chuckle

I've done a clean install of the LAN and Nvidia drivers at any rate so we'll see what happens now, I just hope it doesn't go back to BSOD-less crashes or I honestly won't know what to do.

I'd love to say I didn't see this coming but I had another BSOD-less crash. Event Viewer still gives generic errors.

Generic errors always occur with every system crash, they're kinda useless if you're aware of the crash.

What hardware tests have you done in the past?

Practically none aside from testing my RAM sticks.

Not sure if this is relevant to anything, but Event Viewer gives a warning a few seconds after the Kernel Power error that says this:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device ROOT\WPD\0000.

I know this is to do with the Windows Driver Foundation and I've seen a fix for it some time ago that basically has you change that service from Manual to Automatic but this hasn't done anything for me it seems.

In device manager check if there are any yellow triangles, preferable a screenshot so I can see it too.

    Not a single one.

Because you've had some BSOD-less crashes I want to know what the state of your hard drive is.
    Please follow below instructions.

    Diagnostics Test
BSOD Issues Unsolved For A Long Time [IMG]
    HDD TEST

BSOD Issues Unsolved For A Long Time [IMG]
Run SeaTools to check the integrity of your HDD. SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use - Windows 7 Help Forums
    Run following tests
    • Short Drive Self Test
    • Short generic
    • Long generic
If the short generic fails, no need for the long generic.

    Run HDTune to
    • scan for errors, no quick scan but full scan
    • check the health,
    • benchmark.
It may take some time, but please take the time you need to perform it properly.
Let me know what the results are
    • of the error scan,
    • make a screenshot of the health of every hard drive and post the screenshots,
    • post screenshots with the benchmark of the
      • transfer rate,
      • access time,
      • burst rate,
      • cpu usage.

A software (stress) test for the CPU, assuming that when you tried to boot into safe mode the GPU wasn't included we can ignore the GPU.
If this doesn't provide what we want to see, the cause, then you may have to strip down your system.
There are 4 software tests, for the GPU, RAM, CPU & hard drives, for the other components you have to replace them to test them, with the PSU you can test the voltages also.

Unfortunately I'm a bit limited in giving support when it comes to hardware, if required I'll ask someone to come in for it *Smile

Warning Your CPU temperatures will rise quickly while under this stress test. Keep a keen eye on them and abort the test if overheating occurs.

Had two BSOD-less crashes just now in quick succession, even though yesterday nothing happened. I'll try to do the CPU test tomorrow though I'm a bit pressed for time with exams.

And to add insult to injury, I had a system freeze too.
