BSOD when updating W10 Insider Preview (installation)

For all posts into the thread please use one drive or drop box. Please do not use: File sharing and storage made simple
In the lower left corner search type: windows update > click update history > post a one drive or drop box share link.
In the lower left corner search type: winver > post a one drive or drop share link
Please update your progress with the other tests.
The windows upgrade problem can be troubleshooted once the hardware tests and bsod troubleshooting has completed.

    1) Please post a kernel memory dump: c:\windows\memory.dmp
    2) Open file explorer > this PC > C: > right upper corner search type: C:\windows\memory.dmp > post one drive or drop box share link into the thread. Also post a current winver result using a share link.
    3) Uninstall Kaspersky AV
Removal tool for Kaspersky Lab products (kavremover)

    4) Using control panel uninstall Intel rapid storage technology
    5) Reinstall Intel rapid storage technology from the computer manufacturer's website. If it is not available then install from the Intel website.
    6) For all of the submitted logs please make sure that the default language is English. The msinfo32 was in a foreign language.

Default language is English for everything. I can't stand the computer in other languages. The laptop was never Asus, it's a Lenovo laptop.

BIOS is the latest version. I also got no Kaspersky AV.

  5. Thank you @zbook.

Will try to do it when I get home.

It's a weird issue, though. My integrated card is a Intel HD 4400 card and every time I get the driver from the Intel site it gets rewritten by Microsoft during the Windows Update.

So the update is basically crashing with the driver that was downloaded by itself.

BSOD when updating W10 Insider Preview (installation)

Most of the best drivers come directly from the computer manufacturer.
The next best option is from the component manufacturer.
The component manufacturers will make the drivers for many computer manufacturers and the computer manufacturers may then modify the drivers for their computer models.
The unpredictable drivers are from the websites that update drivers.
The Windows driver updates usually fix problems with Windows drivers.
Sometimes older computers are stable with older drivers. Windows may update the older drivers and produce BSOD. In these cases having the ability to block windows updates of non-Microsoft drivers is useful.

@zbook I'm not sure if it helps you understand the BSOD event for the point when the update fails (2nd boot during data migration) but here is the entire memory stack for the thread at that moment.

The latest memory dump displays the same misbehaving driver and bugcheck C2.
There was no new misbehaving driver.
The date of the driver igdkmd64.sys displayed on the memory dump is Mon Oct 16 13:17:12 2017 (59E4F7A8).

If there are any new BSOD please post a new zip into the thread:

Uninstalling a driver does not remove the driver software from the PC unless you tick the check box to make sure this happens. However, I am not entirely sure that the graphics driver is responsible for this crash. It looks to me as if there is a problem in migrating data during the update. Can you explain the various partitions you have on your system and what each one does? If it helps you could use screenshots of the disk management view.

Do you have secure boot enabled?
