  1. BSOD while gaming error 0x00000124

Sudden and hard freezing while gaming. Luckily. My system rebooted this time after the freeze and I seen the error in event viewer. I do know its hardware related. I just don't know what. I really lucked out. Because this whole time. It just hard freezes and cant do nothing. Must power down and restart.

    ****EDIT****

I am attaching another log. I just had it happen again right now while playing a game. Also attaching pictures from WhoCrashed that caught this last crash.

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xffffb988e6064028, 0x00000000be000000, 0x000000000100110a). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 20da6c4c-848c-4262-a97b-a535a87de3d3.

    BSOD ntoskrnl.exe+142480, 0x00000101, did test: DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (avc3.sys)

While last reply I had 3 more BSODS, 3 more .dmps.

All of them were while playing like before.

All of them with those causes:

    0x00000101

    ntoskrnl.exe+142480

The "0x00000124, ntoskrnl.exe" which I had once in that time seems to be unique.

    Done things:

    No BSOD

    -prime95 4hours

    -3dMark Benchmarks

    Still BSOD

    -deinstalled bitdefender

-deinstalled gigabyte center software with components (oc software etc.)

    -installed old nvidia driver

-set ram profile from xmp (3000) to normal 2133

    Hi FattiesGoneWild,

    Welcome to the 10forums *Smile

You can leave out any reports from such programs as WhoCrashed or BlueScreen Viewer, the wouldn't provide any information I won't get from the zips uploaded.

Please check your SSD for firmware updates
    Download | Samsung V-NAND SSD

Please check HP for BIOS updates.

Could you try to reproduce any problem (BSOD or system freeze) in safe mode please. It'll help us determine more easily if the crashes indeed are hardware problems.

  5. Hi,

It is a OEM version. No firmware update for it on Samsung website. Even on HP's for my particular system. Running the latest bios from HP for my system. I would love to reproduce it in safe mode. The problem is. The freezing only happens while gaming. Sometimes I can go 2 hours or more with no freezing. Other times its with in 30-45 mins etc. The system itself using the OS for everything else is fine. No freezing at all.

    No problem *Smile

Please update or reinstall all drivers provided by HP.

  7. I done even better then that. Yesterday I done a brand new fresh install of Windows 10 and installed drivers. Still happened. I just completed a 24 hour test with Aida64 stressing the whole system with all options checked. Nothing. No freeze, errors or any thing. I feel like I am chasing a ghost here and have no idea what is causing it. Unless I am wrong. I believe there is no way a system could pass a 24 hour test with Aida64 with all tests checked. It is extremely stressful and will push it to the max. Are you seeing any clues its very well possible a driver issue? I thought it was pointing to a hardware issue. Maybe a combination? I don't know.

This is really stressing me out. I use this system daily and like to play games when I have time.

I personally wouldn't rely on it, it isn't that good of a test.

There you're wrong, I've done a 3-4 days stress test with aida64 without a single problem. Aida64 doesn't stress very well IMO when comparing for example the CPU stress part with other CPU stress tests.

I would recommend to run sole stress tests, they are usually much better as they can focus on a single part of the system.

Warning Your GPU temperatures will rise quickly while Furmark is running. Keep a keen eye on them and abort the test if overheating occurs.
Make a photo of the result and post it.

In Furmark you can find a tool called 'GPU-Z' (if you want to install GPU-Z is up to you), when GPU-Z is open click on the 'Sensors' tab, on this tab you can monitor
    • the frequency of the GPU,
    • the GPU memory clock,
    • the temperature,
    • the power,
    • the load on the GPU,
    • Etc.
I would like you to make a screenshot of GPU-Z after you have either cancelled Furmark for any reason or Furmark is finished, post this screenshot in your next reply with the result of Furmark.

  9. Just a update. Problem has been resolved since my last post. I had a loose connection some where.

Could you please specify what loose connection you mean? This would help others *Smile

  11. Sure. It was my cpu power connector. I did not have it fully seated in. This time it "clicked" in and I could hear it. I went back and racked my brain with this. I remember when I plugged it in last time. I did not hear a click of any sort. This time I heard it and its been fine ever since.
