BSOD with multiple error codes on HP Spectre360/Win10

If there are other drivers please use the syntax: chkdsk /x /f /r c: or chkdsk /x /f /r d: and change the drive letter to the applicable drive letter seen in file explorer. Please run this command to check all drives and please run HD Tune on all drives.

  2. Will do -
I am not sure the chkdsk scans were complete - they did not take long. Were run with the /x /f /r tags.
trouble was getting the scan to run at all because "the volume is in use by another process". I've signed out of my own account and logged in as an admin but I think that is the problem

When using the chkdsk commands they can be run while the drive is not locked or while it is locked.
The locking allows a better assessment and fix of the drive file structure.

This is what should be seen when using the chkdsk /x /f /r switches:

    C:\Windows\system32>chkdsk /x /f /r
The type of the file system is NTFS.
    Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

    Type: y
    reboot

This command can take many hours on a HD. For a SSD it is substantially shorter.

Done this several times - the chkdsk seems to stop at 13% and then the computer boots normally - only takes 5 minutes for the entire process and the event does not appear in the log - the events are all from yesterday.
I can't seem to find another process to stop to allow the chkdsk to run immediately

When running the chkdsk commands that require reboot the percent will stop in the teens until the scan/test has completed. When all of the other troubleshooting steps have been completed you can run the chkdsk /x /f /r on all drives.

  6. This is the log file for my first BSOD today (!)
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/8swsush15e...14_68.zip?dl=0

This is a link to the only chkdsk log that exists for today - I ran a chkdsk on my Recovery partition (D*Smile - it appears fine
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/x3umyi0983...ent3.evtx?dl=0

However, despite running chkdsk /x /r /f c: several times (at least 5), each with a reboot, and a startup that checks about 13% of the disk (takes 5-7 minutes then the computer boots normally - it is solid state) there is no log that exists - So I don't think the C drive has been looked at yet -

Please update the thread as you make progress with the installations and un-installations and the steps in post #10.
Were the latest BSOD before or after the AV un-installation?
The latest BSOD when debugged did not display a misbehaving driver.
Allow the Memtest86+ to complete 8 or more passes and the more the passes the better the test.
Use a camera or smart phone camera to take a picture and post an image into the thread.

Download and install HP UEFI diagnostics version 6.5.
After all of the prior tests and steps have been completed please run this tool overnight.
    Method:
Power on the computer and repetitively click the F2 key.
Run the UEFI diagnostics in loop until failure mode.
The test is designed to abort for problems and display an error code.
If you start the testing in the evening wait for 2 or more loops. If the test is still in progress the next day that is a good sign. Then press the keyboard escape key to abort the testing and view the logs to confirm the test results.
Report the results into the thread.

  9. I've been trying to figure out the Memtest thing for a bit. I have created a USB boot file per the tutorial, but can't figure out what to do when I restart in BIOS mode - please walk me through that - I am not seeing an option (with F9 to use the USB key). Sorry, I'm a pain.

On all computers there are keys to open the BIOS boot options menu. And there are keys to open the BIOS.

List of PC brands with their corresponding hot-keys

For HP computers repetitively clicking the F9 key should open the BIOS boot option menu.
Then you can choose the device to boot from.

For HP computers repetitively clicking the F2 key should open the BIOS UEFI diagnostic menu to run the HP UEFI diagnostics.

For HP computers repetitively click the F10 key should open the BIOS to change any of the BIOS settings. It also should allow you to navigate to the HP UEFI diagnostics.

    Note
If you have fast boot or ultra fast boot enabled in your UEFI firmware settings, then you will need to temporarily disable fast boot or ultra fast boot to be able to boot from a USB.

    1. Try another USB stick
    2. Try all USB ports (2.0 and 3.0)
    3. Maybe when using UEFI Bios you have to temporarily switch to Legacy in BIOS settings
    4. Turn off temporarily fast boot, secure boot, CSM if enabled

    1) Find a flash drive that you can format (8GB or larger)
    2) Create a bootable windows 10 iso:
    Download Windows 10
    3) Insert the windows 10 iso into any USB port.
    4) Open file explorer > look for the flash drive > post the drive letter
    5) Restart the computer and repetitively click the F9 key
    6) Use a camera or smart phone camera to take a picture and post an image into the thread.

Click on disk managerment > post an image into the thread.
By trial and error what is available with clicks on the UEFI boot manager?
If the boot menu is not available reboot clicking the F10 key to enter the bios.
Check the settings for secure boot, boot order, fast boot, legacy, CSM > post images into the thread.
