How to Clear EPUB Book Data in Microsoft Edge in Windows 10


Microsoft Edge is a new web browser that is available across the Windows 10 device family. It is designed for Windows 10 to be faster, safer, and compatible with the modern Web.

Starting with Windows 10 Creators Update, you are able to open and read EPUB books in Microsoft Edge along with the following features:

• Add bookmarks
• Read aloud
• Change text size
• Change text spacing
• Change font style
• Change page theme

Starting with Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, you are able to annotate EPUB books in Microsoft Edge to:

• Highlight text
• Underline text
• Add notes

Starting with export and clear your reading progress, notes, and bookmarks data for EPUB books (from the Microsoft Store) in Microsoft Edge.

This tutorial will show you how to clear your reading progress, notes, and bookmarks data from all your EPUB books you read with Microsoft Edge for your Microsoft account across all Windows 10 devices.



Warning Microsoft Edge in Windows 10 will no longer support ePub e-books



Here's How:

1. Open Microsoft Edge.
2. Click/tap on the Settings and more (Alt+X)

button, and click/tap on Settings. (see screenshot below)



3. Click/tap on Privacy & security on the left side, and click/tap on the Clear books data button under Browsing data on the right side. (see screenshot below)



4. If prompted, sign in with your Microsoft account or Work or school account that owns the EPUB books you want to clear the data for. (see screenshot below)



5. Click/tap on Clear data to confirm. (see screenshot below)



6. You will not see a All done! message under the Clear book data button when your book data has been successfully cleared. (see screenshot below)

How to clear Browsing Data in Microsoft Edge?

This does not work. I get this "Some data couldn't be cleared. Please try again." Windows 10 Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.218)

 

New Microsoft EPub books

Does Microsoft DRM protect the books they sell? If so, I want my money back. That's ridiculous. And Microsoft EPUB books can only be opened by EDGE? Again, I want my money back.

It's MY book. I bought it. I don't have this issue with any of the other EPUB books I own. Only the one I bought from the Microsoft store.

 

How to clear Browsing Data in Microsoft Edge?

Hello

CCLeaner cannot yet clean the cache of Microsoft Edge. You can clean your browsing data by following these steps.

• Open Microsoft Edge
• Click on the three little dots on the top right corner
• Under Clear Browsing Data click on Choose what to clear
• Then make sure Cache is checked
• Click on Clear

Opening EPUB file with Edge

Hi,

You can read .ePub files in Microsoft Edge so long as they are not protected. The latest Windows 10 build brings EPUB file format support to Edge, allowing users to read their favorite EPUB books directly in the browser. To resolve your concern,
we suggest that you associate the file type to Edge as well. To do this, please follow the steps below:

• Type Control Panel in the Search bar and press Enter.
• Type Default Programs in the Control Panel Search bar.
  
  
  
• Click the Default Programs and select Associate a file type or protocol with a program option.
  
  
  
• Double-click the .ePub file type.
  
• Once the pop-up window shows the option, click on More apps drop down then select Edge.
