Removing hiberfil.sys did not help. I assume I cannot run your dump collecting program within this? I cannot find any other dumps on C:, after googling it seems I need to set windows to do it but it says during BSOD it's collecting data so I completely do not comprehend this. In what is the info related to crash saved, Event Viewer?, cannot access unless it can be accessed another way.

Minidump files would be in C:\Windows\minidump. If there area any there, copy them to a flash drive from a Linux live CD or Windows PE disc or flash drive then zip them and upload the zip file.

We'll need to check the system files, in Xubuntu you need to open the command prompt (as admin if possible) and enter the command
Code: sfc /scannow
I don't know if this works in Xubuntu, if it doesn't you need to get into a(nother) WinPE.

Whether I do it by just opening command prompt in X:\Users\Default location(pendrive, where the WinPE sits, yes?) or by opening command prompt in C:\ or C:\Windows it stops at 9% and does not update CBS.log as it states in the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS.

Edit: Now I see, by C it means its C (X) yes? so run it in C:\ or C:\Windows or just default without chanigng location so in x\users\default?

Please try following command
Code: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
If this command shows that the corruption is repairable, try following command
Code: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
let me know what the result is of this command.

If /ScanHealth says the corruption is not repairable let me know and we'll go from there.

Here is the CBS.log from X:\Windows\Logs\CBS location:
timestamp 15:55: CMD launched from X:\Users\Default
timestamp 15:57: CMD launched from C:\
timestamp 15:59:CMD launched from C:\Windows

Dism Online does not work whether from X or C: Error 50 DISM does not support servicing Windows PE with /Online option.

Thank you for your help and time then.

So the output from CMD in form of CBS.log was finally a useful one? Did it actually check my Windows partition, not stop for some reason or check the pendrive WinPE? It worked from either of the locations CMD was set up?

I guess I wil upgrade or reinstall then. Will it auto activate based on some unique PC identifier? My PC was activated through win 7 to 10 upgrade and then clean install.

The command can't finish due to the major of corruption, but because we found that the major of corruption is the cause the log file is still useful *Smile

I don't know what your activation is, but normally it should activate without problem (with and without entering a key).
If you however have problems with activating, I recommend to check Showkey - Windows 10 Forums for it *Smile

Hi Bardys.

CRITICAL_SERVICE_FAILED (0x5A) is not a very common bugcheck. If it is resisting you to boot into the computer, then the situation is literally critical.

But you may try one thing. The service that is failing may be either a system service or a third party service. We may try to remove all the third party services from boot.

Open a Command Prompt at Boot. In the command prompt .... enter the command ....
start msconfig
It will open the system configuration window, with the "general" tab selected.

• Disable all the third party services:
Click on "services" tab. Check the "Hide all Microsoft Services"; Click "Disable all" > Apply > OK
• Disable all the Startup items:
Click the "startup" tab.
Click "Open Task Manager"
In the Task Manager > Startup Tab, Select an item > Disable (the button is at the bottom right corner)
Do the same for all the items.
Close the Taks Manager Window.
In the System Configuration Window ... do Apply > OK.
Then try to boot again normally. Does it boot? Let us know.

The system cannot find the file msconfig.
Am I supposed to cd to C:\ or something? Command prompt is:
X:\Sources>

edit: NVM i have just given up, reinstalling. Thanks axe0, Arc, Ztruker

X is the RAM drive.

You may not be able to CD to C.

As we could not proceed through this way, unfortunately we have to take the last resort, a clean reinstall of windows.

I did Repair PC, this will just store partition C in windows.old but everything else will be stock windows, yes? No drivers, programs, shortcuts etc?

edit: ok, it some files in windows.old and left some where they were. MS's recovery options are a bit confusing.
