My computer keeps restarting because windows update won't install KB4041676

I have also just successfully installed the Windows Fall Creator Update.

It take quite a long time to complete, but it did.

Now at OS Build 16299.19 for Windows 10 Pro version 1709. Hope this is correct.

No pending updates. Unfortunately no Update history Cumulative Update KB4043961 Windows 10 v1709 Build 16299.19 :( although Security Update KB4043961 still seems to being performing a daily update ????

Need to wait and see if future (cumulative) updates will install OK.

    Cumulative Update KB4043961 Windows 10 v1709 Build 16299.19

"User profile cannot be loaded" - A reproducible bug that can be caused by deleting files and unknown factors

Now, the system already had been upgraded from V1703 build 15063.647 to V1709 build 16299.19,

but this bug still exists in the latest version (V1709 build 16299.19),

already had been tried and proved.

  6. So, who - besides me - feels the whole FCU Release has been just a touch anticlimactic? Really, haven't many of us already been using 16299.15 for over a week now anyway? Not to mention 16299.19 after the .cab file download link was posted.

I guess the only REAL side effect of the official release is a "bonafide" MCT available as a download.

Now, I wonder what some of us are going to do 'til the next preview or update is available. *Biggrin*Biggrin

    Cumulative Update KB4043961 Windows 10 v1709 Build 16299.19

It's not meant to be a sea-change, just an incremental improvement and update. It should eventually become as unobtrusive as a Windows Defender update, apart from some infomercial content in Edge that lets you know what's new, better, fixed and what to look forward to.

Microsoft is sensibly trying to add value to a freely-updated Windows, with a more tangible hardware device range, and tools that are applicable to Windows and other OS developers alike.

    Interesting times ahead.

That's odd - I've just upgraded the two systems in 'My Computers' below with media made by the official release of the MCT. Both upgraded to 16299.15 without issue.

Checking for updates, the x64 system got the Flash update KB4049179 and this Cumulative update KB4043961. The x86 system only got the Flash update (both got Defender definition updates as well).

Edit: Just checked again, x86 found another Defender definitions, but still no sign of KB4043961.

The latest MCT is the 1709 16299.19 OS Fall Creators Update. Installs over previous win 10 build, no 1703... I have tried all previous so called MCT, ISOs esd conversions, insider bs. nothing has gone stable except the MCT from about 30 mins ago. Peace hope yours works.

Actually, the latest MCT is 16299.15, not .19.

First PC I did came in at 15 and I had to get the cumulative update, second PC, the Cumulative must have been got during the install as it finished at 19 and I just got the non cumulative updates. Used the ISO method so not a different MCT if anyone was wondering.
