Windwos 10 Security Patch KB 4056892 installation.

Thanks Andre I checked as noted, the patch KB56892 has been installed. Additionally the patch KB4056892 installed as well. Couldn't find the patch KB4056892 in the installed update list in W10 accessed . I found the following on this patch.

This KB4058702 apparently is freshly baked and out of the oven. It has to do with some serious security vulnerability speculation on some Intel CPUs. All that I am saying is that I didn't get
it, meaning I am probably not concerned. I will trust MS on this one. If you got it and it installed successfully, that's a

Also, not knowing the circumstances such as you just did a Windows update and this occurred or you shut off the page file and it started or what.

You can also try uninstalling the last update which should be

V1709; January 3, 2018—>>KB4056892<< (OS Build 16299.192)

Located in the

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features>>View Installed Updates

Restart PC

And then download and manually install the update again

Be sure to choose Windows 10 64bit if that is what you have and the Cumulative version.

Getting a blank on Microsoft Update Catalog. Nothing from Windows update yet, but I'm not worried, it'll show up sooner or later.

No luck getting this update either way suggested -- through Windows Update or provided link.

 

Rumor is it'll be released around 5 PM EST.

Does this mean if I modify or install that particular reg key it would cause this update to not install? If so, what should that key read, if someone has the key, please post it. I do not want this update until I see how it plays out. Time seems to be of the essence.

 

Shouldn't be long now. The equivalent ones for 1607 and 1703 have just appeared in the catalog...
(literally - 1703 appeared while I watched)

 

Go to the catalog and search for it specifically. It is there.
