Done on both machines and running with no issues so far.

Thanks ... If it was just one PC, I'd give Reset Windows Update a try and might anyway. However, both PC's (desktop & laptop) with same error/issue ... not sure it would help *Sad

Things I've tried on both PC's ...
Windows Update Troubleshooter - no problems found
Delete everything from \SoftwareDistribution\Downloads folder and manually recheck for updates - no go
sfc scannow and dism checkhealt & scanhealth - no problems found
Manual Install - no go

 

What about a direct download from MS Update catalog and finally a repair install. Lately, I have seen a lot of users from "tensforum" & other forums fix their issue with windows update by running an in-place upgrade. *Smile

Hmm, 3 PC's updated, 2 vanished off the network, had to do a network reset to get them back again, other that that OK.

 

That's always the fun part - running diskcleanup after an update. Takes longer than the complete update itself.

Used to be pretty fast at one point in time though. No idea how MS lost that again. One step forward, two steps backwards ?
That being said, all machines seem to have gained in responsiveness and general speed. Which of course I dig tremendously.

Same here. Or something very similar. Update just stopped downloading at 66%, had to reboot my pc. After that it resumed and finished successfully.

Network's fine here. No problems on either ethernet or wireless connected devices.
I'm really liking this CU. W10 is really becoming a very good OS IMHO.

Final Results
4 machines updated via Windows Update. 3 others said Up-to-Date, so did it manually with the msu file.
The previous update, had to do 6 out of 7 with an In-Place Upgrade.

This indicates there is still something very wrong with these updates & Microsoft hasn't figured out what.

Just finished updating here. All updates installed OK and everything seems to running fine since restart. *Smile

 

Hi,

I'm inclined to disagree with such statement. I rarely experienced any problems unless everyone experienced them too.
My philosophy on this is to not update unless you know your device is trouble free to begin with. Many machines aren't and you really can't expect MS to take care of it all.

The same, then it said to restart and nothing, installed again, asked for restart, again nothing, just like here:

It actually showed 35% upon one restart, but it changed the mind and just booted the desktop. *really
