Windows 10: Default save location

I have a small SSD holding my OS, and a large HDD for everything else. I am trying to change the default install path to my storage drive, but when I go to settings, system, storage, I am unable to change the default install path to my storage drive (F. Everything else (pictures, documents, music, etc.) can be changed to F:, but app install can't. I am able to manually change it while installing programs, but I would like to set it as the default.

I am currently trying to clean up my one drive by downloading saved pics to my computer, however, the downloads are set to one drive by default so now I am trying to change the default setting in Windows 10 from one drive to PC but every time I click apply,
it reverts right back to one drive. ****?! why is this doing this? HELPPPPPP!

When I try to edit the PackageRoot key and hit OK I get the following error. I ran RegEdit as the administrator but still can't change the value.

Yeah. And all those options are available except the one to change app location. That's greyed out and unchangeable.

I'm afraid that it doesn't start working again until build 10576.

If you check for and install the latest Windows 10 TH2 version 1511 build 10586 update in Windows Update, it should work for you afterwards.

It says my system is up to date. It did install some updates, but not the specified one, and my build is the same.

 

If you have Windows 10 TH2 version 1511 build 10586, then yeah you should be able to change the default storage location of Apps. It shouldn't be grayed out.

I suppose it could be a bug from upgrading.

If you like, refreshing or resetting Windows should sort it. Be sure to back up anything that you don't want to lose first though. *Sad
