    Disable automatic reboot for updates

This is how my PC is set up. I set the update for 5:30 PM and the reboot was done. At 8:30 PM, Windows 10 rebooted itself when I was in the middle of something. No warning. I have to assume that Windows 10 did it for a reason.

How can I prevent these reboots or is there a place I can look to see why the reboot was done?

^^^^ Me too, my Win10-Home reboots just about every night. I have shut off auto updates and nothing seems to help. I'd rather not roll back to 8.1, but this is annoying !!!

My guess is its not a bug, its something Microsoft have done intentionally. either way is still happens to me sporadically

I think it might also help to deactivate another option:

It often happened to me that although I hibernated my laptop Windows 10 rebooted itself automaticaly at night. I hate it when I think that the computer is powered down and it does things anyway closing all my applications.

Ditto that! For me that is the very definition of an UNSTABLE operating system. If my computer can't run unattended, and if my computer operating system takes precedence over what I, the user, am trying to do what is the point!

  10. It seems that it even cannot hibernate unattended. I find it's a dengerous practice that microsoft enforces by default. What if something happened at night when I sleep and it runs just by itself? I guess it's just a matter of time until some evil people misuse this mechanism to hack into corporate machines... anyway, I see there is still another option to disable it the Allow wake times:

It's quite scarry that hibernation isn't like power off any more. But even more worse is that microsoft adds new functions to the system and not mentioning them anywhere. If you don't stuble upon one of them by accident you'll never find out how your system is cheating on you. PC owners are lucky, they could pull the plug but laptop owners? Should they remove the battery...? and even that is not always possible with the internal battery in new lenovo notebooks.

I have this policy ENABLED and my PC continues to restart automatically after update. Microsoft just ignores this option.
