Windows 10: Drive Power State Failure

I've encountered a problem that reminds me of the old days of the blue screen of death.

I have Win 10 Version 1809. I recently started frequently encountering a problem whereby the screen turns blue with an error message that there's been a drive power state failure. I then get a message telling me to wait while Windows restarts, a process that takes a several minutes. When it's completed, there are over 600 MB of new temporary system files on the computer.

Checking some online resources suggested to me that, as the name of the error also suggests, there is a problem with one or more drivers. But I checked the Device Manager, and all the drivers seem to be up to date.

I haven't installed any new programs within the last few months, but the problem has arisen only within the last few weeks. I set the computer back to the oldest System Restore point that I had, but I couldn't tell whether it helped temporarily. But it surely didn't solve the problem.

I sort of had the impression, without trying to duplicate the problem too many times (since I didn't know what sort of havoc might ensure), that the problem arises after or in connection with my putting the computer into hibernation. I can't say that the problem has always happened *immediately* after the machine has been in hibernation, but maybe it has. But it doesn't *always* happen after hibernation.

In any case, I stopped using hibernation, and started putting the computer into sleep instead. The problem doesn't seem to arise any more. At least it hasn't for the last week.

Also, a couple times I accidentally put the computer into hibernation. In order to avoid doing that again, I disabled Hibernation by following the instructions at
Enable or Disable Hibernate in Windows 10.
Basically, in the registry editor I navigated to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power and changed the HibernateEnabled setting to 0. Once I did that, however, although the Hibernate option disappeared from the Shut Down menu, Sleep mode (which remained in the Shut Down menu) also was disabled. I've therefore re-enabled Hibernate, but continue to avoid using it.

I'd appreciate any ideas on what's causing this problem and how to fix it. (Also, is disabling Hibernate supposed to disable Sleep as well?) I'm not much beyond a computer idiot, so please be basic.

Driver Power State Failure

Currently getting a driver power state failure on two identical machines. I've replaced memory & hard drive, reinstalled windows still getting the BSOD every few minutes. As suggested in other posts on this issue tried setting the power management to performance
settings, and made sure none of the major devices are being powered off to save power. Updated all drivers in safe mode. BIOS is up to date. Clean install of Windows 10 so corruption shouldn't be an issue.
