Windows 10: Enable or Disable Auto Arrange in Folders in Windows 10

Hi Guys, This program helped me out to organize all my stuff as I wanted, But I have a tiny question and if you can help me with this.
So, as I said, I installed this, organized all As I wanted, good, but I want to know If I can use this feature with Disable Auto Arrange and "This Pc" Local Disks, to be shown as in this pic

, Because Idk, I like this Local Disks more like this instead of simple like this :

You could set the folder view of "This PC" to Group by -> Type and Sort by -> Name to see it normally again, but you won't be able to arrange them how you like.

In addition, change View -> Tiles for the layout.

That's ok. If you like, you can use the method below for Windows 8 to have "This PC" still show normally with auto arrange disabled. It just will not have any affect in "Quick access" for Windows 10.

This gives me EXACTLY what I was looking for!! I am scanning in slides from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, ..... well, you get the picture.

Remember those light boxes that held slides on a few rows--giving the ability to rearrange slides in the order needed for a slideshow? My father used on all the time. Well, by turning OFF auto-arrange and ON for large or extra large icons, I can easily move the slides into any order in the folder! Then, when I like the order, I select all, hit F2, rename the first pic and the others are all renamed in this new order---Yippee. That saves me hours of manually renaming the old way i.e.: image-023a.jpg, image-023b.jpg !

Did I mention YIPPEE!

I did the SAME thing for years with XP, then going to 8.1 and 10, the issue drove me up a wall until I found Brink's bat's. If you scan your slides into jpgs, you can also do the same thing in FastStone Image Viewer (FastStone Image Viewer - Powerful and Intuitive Photo Viewer, Editor and Batch Converter); drag and drop into any order then rename all or just some. You can also add more pics to the next rename, if you change your mind without being nagged about duplicate names too. Worth trying, imho.

 

Thanks Brink this is what I was using on Windows 7, I can finally manually arrange folders and images!
However it is not working the same as W7 in terms of images in a folder: for example I manually arrange an image next to another one. When I open with the "Photos" W10 program and use the Left/Right arrow keys it will ignore the manually arranged image as if it wasn't in that position, but in the old automatically assigned position. Even if I close and re-open the folder it behaves the same.

"Windows Photo Viewer" (which I had always used) scrolls through images based on their name and not position.

Is there any way I can fix this on either of the image viewer programs so it scrolls through images based on my manually arranged positions like I used to in W7? I really have no idea. Thank you.

EDIT: I just tried "Windows Live Photo Gallery" program and it behaves as I wished the other two would, it actually scrolls through the images based on my manual arrangement. I have no idea why "Photos" or "Windows Photo Viewer" won't work as they should, but I suppose this will suffice for now.
