Help with moving the Users folder for an upgrade (to 64bit from 32bit)

Trying to follow the Tutorial 'Move Users Folder Location in Windows 10' and, at the beginning of the tutorial, it states:
'You can download a Windows 10 ISO image with the install.wim file needed for this procedure by following instructions in this tutorial (Option One): Windows 10 ISO Download'

I used Media Creation to download and burn a DVD of the Win 10 Pro 64bit .iso but I looked through the DVD and couldn't find any install.wim file.

What did I do wrong that it didn't download with the rest of the .iso files?

    :)

recently upgraded from window 10 32bit to 64bit

    Hi,

I have recently recently upgraded from window 10 32bit to 64bit through a resetting and installing 64bit from a USB.

But after the installation completed, I con feel a slight sluggishness from everything, moving of mouse to scrolling of web page and gaming. Its not smooth like it used to be when I am using 32bit window 10.

  3. Can I upgrade from Windows 8.1 32 bit to Windows 10 64 bit without wiping my files?

    Hi,

    No.

    The free Upgrade is Windows 8.1 32bit > Windows 10 32bit.

    Or 8.1 64bit > 10 64bit.

There is no upgrade path from 32bit to 64bit in any Windows Operating system as they are different architecture.

That is done with a clean install, which is not allowable while you are doing the free upgrade.

    Cheers.

look for install.esd under Sources folder instead of install.wim

The install.esd (electronic software distribution) and install.wim (windows image) both contain the windows source files and are interchangeable for most purposes (certainly for a normal windows install). The Media Creation Tool makes an ISO using the esd form because it is a more compressed format and reduces the size of the download.

There are a few more complicated operations where only an install.wim will do. I'm not sure if @Kari's tutorial is one of those cases. If so, there is another way you can download an ISO from Microsoft.

Go to Microsoft's Download Windows 10 page using Edge. Now use the F12 Developers Tools and on the Emulation tab set the 'User Agent String' to 'Apple Safari (iPad)'. The page then changes to one offering direct ISO downloads, and that one has an install.wim in it.

My apologies, I thought I had removed that from the tutorial as there no longer is any reason to have install.wim file available. I will edit the tutorial now.

Thanks for bringing this in my attention.

    EDIT:

Tutorial edited. It now says as follows, reference to install.wim removed:
