Tried Ctl>Shft>T. That didn't work. I'm not understanding your message above about updating extensions. Please explain. I still don't know which extension would work best. The Great Suspender seems to work automatically behind the scenes - or was it Vivaldi? I've now lost track of where I'm at. But I need to retrieve my tabs, please.

'Sleeping' Tabs also sign you out automatically on sites that address that security measure!

    The developer states:

So if you disabled it or it updated in the background when you were using it then not having control over chrome extension updates might be the problem. Yet another reason to avoid Chrome in my opinion.

That page by the develper is clear:

Confirm that you didn't try to disable it or uninstall it.

    Assuming that you didn't:

Other than that type chrome://history in a new tab and see what is listed. Reopen anything that you can find if you need it.

The keyboard shortcut for tab history is Ctrl+Shift+T, which should open the collection of tabs.

If you’ve used the browser to open several other tabs since the problem then it's likely that the shortcut will not work.

Then you can only open browser history and look through it to find relevant tabs that you wish to reopen.

If you were in incognito mode then you are out of luck since there will be no history.

On another note do you have a google account that you can sign into and check browsing history (if enabled)

Vivaldi is a browser in it's own right.

RE: The Great Suspender seems to work automatically behind the scenes

It does if you don't configure the settings. As suggested it should be set to never auto suspend giving manual control. Anyway since there has been problems I suggest that you don't use it with Chrome.

Run that program linked above. In options choose "Chrome" and make sure the file path is correct. If not - point it at your Chrome\User Data folder.

See what it finds. If it finds anything save the results into a text file.

Will have to check back tomorrow. If all else fails you might have to try system restore:

I lost the tab that explained how to get Vivaldi Session Manager into Google Chrome. Can someone refresh me?

Vivaldi is a browser in it's own right. Vivaldi Session manager is part of Vivaldi Browser and it's built in.

Chrome Session Manager is an addon for Chrome browser:

Session Manager - Chrome Web Store

I've not used Chrome for ages. Maybe this addon can find and restore previous sessions after installation - then again maybe it can't.
