    how the Metering affects the update process

    Good Grief!!!! I'm usually good at finding this stuff but...thanks Bree *Biggrin

  2. I'm not an IT expert but I have a sleuths knack for finding elusive items like this.
    @Bree:

    I hope you'll forgive me but I still would like confirmation about the wording of that function of restricting the amount of bandwidth for downloading updates in the background....so if you apply the slider to 100% it means that NO bandwidth will be used for that purpose?

    No, I think you've got that back to front. 100% means all the bandwidth can be used, it's 0% to use none. It's not something I've needed to use, but this is what MS says. (my sleuthing skills are Google-based *Smile)

    Also note that in Fall Creators Update (1709, build 16299) this only works for downloads in the background, those initiated automatically by windows update. If you do a manual check for update they use the full bandwidth.

    For the ability to limit foreground downloads apparently you'll have to wait for the next release (1803?).

    Thanks for that clarification. I'm not sure why it confused me, but it did, I must be getting old my reading comprehension used to be very good.

    The reason I need the use of this option is because I have a VERY slow connection 768/128k DSL....This in the USA in 2017.
