I got a file called "Windows10Upgrade28084" from the support page shown above, but when running it a screen came up saying "Thank you for upgrading to the latest version of Windows 10"
Am I missing something here?

 

Update was successful........the settings pages have a new look.......looks more polished..

So far all my programs are working great....

 

That turned out to be the Windows Upgrade Assistant not a separate tool for the Anniversary build. The 14385 still on the main build was indicated as the latest version of 10 as well as what you saw there being in the RS1 group of builds. Each of these builds is still version 1607 which is what the advisor tool goes by.

The MCTool was also downloaded again a second time lately and will see the iso used for a new VM before assuming RS1 or the 10586.494 download for that. Some may not even see the update for a day or so depending on location possibly in random order which would be the MS intent on preventing server bog downs.

 

Any idea how big the Update is?

 

Thanks for the reply, when I tried again the Upgrade Assistant app went into an endless loop with the message about finding the latest version. Had to restart the PC to stop it.*really

 

3.5 GB or so

Mine finished downloading in about 5 minutes. 25 percent done installing now. Prikker, try a restart, then see if it will fetch the update?

 

About 3.38gb is what it comes to on Disk. You can verify that by the latest MC Tool download saved as ISO from the Get 10 page under the Get Now Windows Upgrade Advisor button which simply shows the14385 as well as 14393 builds as the latest since they are version 1607 not 1511 being seen now. The general release has the 14393 tag.

The first button is just the upgrade advisor and not a download tool. That simply indicates what you are running and elible for while the MC Tool features the download and save as iso option when skipping the instanly online and create media options.

The WU will be getting randomly as figured. With everybody trying to get it at once MS has taken some obviously randomizing steps to prevent server meltdowns from being overloaded due to the hundreds of millions of machines now running 10! Can't do them all in just one day's time without a meltdown of some type!
