How to update the password of my local account once switched to login with online account

I've switched to login with Microsoft account, and I update the password regularly. However when I try to recover my system, I'm prompted to type in the password of my local account, which was set long time ago and I don't remember. After full reinstallation, all data was lost. I can't find any place to update the password of my local account in the system if I choose to use online account. So probably I will lost my data in the next system recover if I do so.

    I have two questions:

    1. How to update the password of my local account once switched to login with online account?
    2. Is it posssible to synchronize the password between online and local accounts?

    :)

  3. Switch from Microsoft Personal Account to Local Account - "Sign in with a local account instead" option is missing

We appreciate your response. If you hesitate to perform an in-place upgrade, you can use the built-in Administrator account to switch to a local account. Follow these steps to enable the built-in Administrator account:

    • On Search type CMD. Right click on CMD then choose Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Yes.
    • In the Command Prompt window, type net user administrator /active:yes and then hit the Enter key.
    • You should see a message that the command completed successfully. Log out, and you’ll now see the Administrator account as a choice on the login screen.
    • Switch your account to local account if it is available in built-in administrator.

Note: The hidden Administrator account has a lot more privileges than a regular administrator account. Privileges that can easily generate a conflict on your system. We only recommend enabling the built-in Administrator account for troubleshooting purposes
and you have to disable it once you are done.

To disable the hidden Administrator account, follow these steps:

    • Open CMD as an administrator.
    • In the Command Prompt window, type net user administrator /active:no and then hit the Enter key.
    • The administrator account will now be disabled, and shouldn’t show up on the login screen anymore.

Keep us updated about the results.

    Help Removing Microsoft Account login

I am not sure if you want to switch to a local account instead of your Microsoft account, or if you want to keep your Microsoft account but login automatically instead of having to type the password.
