Windows 10: Issue with Desktop on Windows 10 1903

I did an upgrade to v1903 and after I put my pin in it boots to my desktop, but my desktop does not appear, the pin screen welcome screen with my username appears on my desktop instead.


Once I move my mouse my desktop and icons start to appear or by hitting F5.


Even a clean install from a fresh format does not resolve the issue.


Dell XPS 8300

Intel I7-2600k

6GB Ram

Nvidia GT-530 with latest drivers installed

Windows 10 v1903 64 Bit OS


Never had this issue with previous version of Windows 10.

Known issues for Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903


As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP
