    KB4462937 - Impossible to install cumulative update


    I've bought new ASUS notebook (ASUS Zenbook UX410UA-GV035T, Win10, x64). It was produced some time ago thus it was necessary to install several patches. I have been stucked with this completely: KB4462937.

    - While Windows Update runs it completely consumes HDD resources.

    I spent many hours around laptop with no result.

    Dear Madam / Sir,

    I've bought new ASUS notebook (ASUS Zenbook UX410UA-GV035T, Win10, x64). It was produced some time ago thus it was necessary to install several patches. I have been stucked with this completely: KB4462937.

    - While Windows Update runs it completely consumes HDD resources.

    - Checked lot of tech forums for some advice, I tried:

    - install automatically (installed after several hours, then failed)

    - tried WU troubleshooting tool (always indicated there were several issues fixed but did not help)

    - disable WU and install (it stated some components is not available, was not possible to install)

    - install via standalone installer from MS Update Catalog (installation ran dozens of minutes and always failed)

    - tried to install prerequisites (Servicing Stack Updates was recommended, installation of this stack update was not possible)

    - tried to disable WU altogether to avoid HDD consumption, WU started to download this update again

    - tried to disable WU in registry keys (KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU; NoAutoUpdate, AUOptions) but this did not blocked downloads

    - finally disabled WU altogether

    I spent many hours around laptop with no result. This is annoying. It would be great to get one complex list of steps how to proceed. Not from irritated users on tech forums but rather directly from Microsoft. I am also quite disappointed as each installation
    I did in the past was full of such surprises.

    Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) will not install

    Anyone else having problems getting the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) installed? This update has been failing for me & doing a failed to update after downloading & reboot, then rebooting & removing the update.

    V 10.0 build 10240
