Windows 10: Lead me to a Tutorial that will help me fix my problem

I am ready to run the Win10 setup from the desktop. Is there a way for me to confirm that I am the admin. The User section does not indicate that like it is on my newer desktop

 

Checked again and it does have me as a Admin

I am watching while I am doing. First eliminating all of the security software.

 

Nothing will run the setup on the desktop. I am in Win10 and it is running. I have a disk made from the Media Creation Tool. Can I insert that and try just to run the setup file from the Desktop?

 

What you saying is hard to understand.....you say you made a DISK using the MCT , then you write that you can't run the setup file from your desktop .....that setup.exe should be on the disk that you made.....???? not on your desktop.

 

What I would do is download the ISO from here....and not use MCT ....then MOUNT that iso from your desktop, using setup.exe.
Unless the one you have installed on this Disk....works.

Hope you are downloading the correct Version of the Windows ISO ...has to be same version you have installed in order to repair the OS. The files for Windows Version 1607 on that disk should look like this...

 

I tired the method on the video by going through Settings and Recovery would not activate.

There was a repair section in the Advance settings when I was looking for the EUFI, is that different that what we are trying to do?

Or is my best course to try and reinstall Win10 from the upgrade disK?

 

All you had to do was download the correct Windows ISO to your hard drive, then right click that ISO and choose the MOUNT OPTION ....then run the setup.exe and choose the Repair files option....thats it.

 

I did that and it open in a ISO file but would not execute. Tried to use the update file from my CD and it would not execute. The common message on that computer is that file, which ever I chose, I just open the source file with file explorer and again, the setup would not execute after trying to mouse click it,. Just tried a different mouse and as the other, the left click does nothing.

Am I only left with starting this from the original update dvd??

 

Or do I go back to the Advance mode and do a Repair from there?

 

Well Sorry but I give up!!! no idea what your doing at this point, all I know is if you downloaded the right ISO and mounted it, it DOES work ....what your doing wrong.....I don't know. Sorry....its not that hard to do. *Sad

 

Thanks for trying. Left side of either mouse does not get a response. Will try to get the Advance Mode when I tried to get to the UEFI. Notice there was a Repair option, will try that and hope that it will execute.
