Driver Verifier is now running for 26 hours without any BSODs. The system was mostly idle, but I also did some web browsing. These BSODs seem to be tricky to reproduce.

I'm letting the test continue until tonight, then I'll make screenshots of my BIOS settings and see whether I can crash the system with Prime95 (that seemed to do the trick after 4 hours, last time)

    Lots of BSODs

I quit Driver Verifier after 30 hours of no errors. I then started Prime95, which produced a Bluescreen of System Service Exception after about 3 hours. About 2-3 min after reboot, the System crashed again with the same error message. I'm currently gathering the logs, but I suppose another crash is happening soon (My observations so far were that one BSOD is always quickly followed by 3-4 more).

    Attachment 143033

Thankfully I could access the dumps. As I supposed, there were immediately two further BSODs of PFN_LIST_CORRUPT and BAD_POOL_HEADER.

I turned off my system for now as time was not sufficient to see the dumps.

The situation leads me to believe there's a memory problem, but I'm waiting for your input.

edit: I rebooted after 5 minutes. Almost immediate BSOD of MEMORY_MANAGEMENT.
I also can't seem to even boot into safe mode without BSOD.

Next update: I currently cannot boot in the system at all (Bios POST loads, but I'm getting bluescreens almost immediately). I'm removing the RAM for now.

Try to boot into safe mode
    .

If safe mode helps, try a clean boot.

    Or try Hardware Stripdown Troubleshooting

    Diagnostics Test
    Lots of BSODs [IMG]
    Clean boot
    Please try the following:
    • Open taskmanager
      • Go to the tab startup
      • disable everything
    • Search msconfig and open it
      • Go to the tab services
      • Check 'hide microsoft services'
      • Uncheck all other services
      • Click apply and click ok
    • Reboot if asked
See if the problem persist, if the problem does not persist enable in the startup tab in taskmanager 1 item and in the services tab in msconfig also 1 service, reboot and see if the problem persist. Keep doing this until you find the culprit or there is nothing left.
If the problem still persist, try booting in safe mode and see if the problem still persist

    Hello,

I removed one stick of RAM, could boot. Tried to run Prime95, almost immediate BSOD.
Switched the RAM stick (same slot, but other module), right now, Prime95 is running again (so far stable, but it's only 5 minutes in...)

It seems the RAM is definitely the culprit, despite MemTest86+ reporting zero errors.

    Lots of BSODs

Memtest86+ needs to run for at least 8 passes to have a balance between time (number of false negatives) and accuracy. So a minimum of 8 passes has been used. Sometimes it takes passes in the teens to find problems with memory. So the more passes the better. Most often people are not able to run the test for these long periods. We had one OP recently with 86 passes.

You can turn off prime95 and run Memtest86+ for each RAM in one DIMM. Please make sure you choose only one DIMM.
Run each RAM for at least 8 passes in the same DIMM.
Make images and post into the thread.
If the RAM fails then you have determined the faulty RAM.
If both RAM pass then you will move the RAM to the next DIMM and retest.

Did that and immediately seeing errors and lots of them. Any explanation why the RAM was supposedly fine when I ran my first test with both modules?

What's even more weird is that I'm seeing only errors.

    No software test is 100%.

The suggested tests are often reliable, but when the suspicious arises that the test could be not right this time it is best to physically test, like you did.

I'm reseating RAM Modules and running memtest86+ again....

Memtest86+ is reporting massive errors again (started at about 50% during first pass).

Thanks so far, will report back once I get that RAM module replaced.

    Hello,

RAM was indeed defective and was replaced for free by the retailer. So far, my system is stable and survived 48h of memtest86+ and 15h of Prime95. I'm considering this solved for now and I'm praying that it will stay this way.

    Thank you everyone.
