Which hardware tests were done with the old and which ones were done with the new motherboard?
The IPDT and FurMark were just done with the new MB.
How about the Memtest86+ version 5.01?

There may be some testing that was previously done but not yet posted into the thread. If you have test results please post them inito the thread.

For the CPU the IPDT and Prime95 have different methods.
Please test the CPU using Prime95.

I did run a couple of passes of Memtest86+ before I started this thread to see if there were any immediate problems with memory, I could run an overnight stress test on the memory though if you deem it necessary. I ran numerous benchmarks/stress tests on the old mobo, but didn't keep anything logged as I was troubleshooting alone at that stage.

I'll run Prime95 now, but I do recall people stating Prime95 as unsafe for stress testing not so long ago...

P.S. I'm used to using RealTempGT to record CPU temps, is this okay for recording temps while running Prime95?

The prime95 we use as a tool regularly for WHEA 0x124 and evaluating CPU,
    The testing can run indefinitely.
The monitoring and aborting as needed are important.
    Please see the link.
Any temperature monitoring software that you are comfortable with will work as long as you have found it comprehensive and reliable.
The temperature monitoring software that we suggest are:

Speccy - Free Download - Piriform: Speccy - System Information - Free Download

HWMONITOR | Softwares | CPUID: HWMONITOR | Softwares | CPUID

SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer: SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

For memtest86+ version 5.01 please run 8 or more passes.
The testing is not done by time but by passes.
The more passes the better as it sometimes takes passes in the 20's to find malfunctioning RAM.
Just 1 error is fail and you can abort testing.
Then test 1 RAM module at a time in the same DIMM for 8 or more passes.

The testing can be started in the evening and ran overnight and the next day until it has completed 8 or more passes.

I'm running the stress test now, I'll leave it running for about an hour. Then I'll screenshot the results and go into the bios to take some shots of the different voltage values, along with CPU + RAM frequencies.

I've had the test running for about 15 minutes so far, and the hottest core of 6 is going between 66-67°C, the coolest core around 60°C (I probably made a less tidy job of applying paste evenly than I could have, lol). It's looking like unless it runs into a processing error, the temps aren't going to budge from this state.

I ran Prime95 for nearly 1 hour 30 minutes, and the temps seemed to have finally reached their peak. No errors reported, attached screenshots of temps. I also got shots from the BIOS displaying all the different voltages, but it's still not clear to me what the 12/5/3.3V values refer to.

I'll run Memtest86+ overnight and depending on how many passes it manages in that time I'll get back to you with results for that in the morning maybe, if not I'll leave it running while I'm out during the day since I'll be busy anyway.

    Thanks so far.

Hi all, sorry for my slow response.

I intended to run Memtest86+ the other night, but actually ran into problems getting the particular requested version to boot. It appears the BIOS did not see the Memtest86+ USB as a bootable drive, however I have had success with a newer version of Memtest86+ before so should I just use a different version?

Referring to the above post, I will go away and get answers for all of those questions hopefully at some point today. I will also mention that Focusrite have responded to my request for support, and provided me with a beta driver to try and determine if it fixes that device's problem. They are aware that many people have been having problems with BSODs relating to their drivers.

Also, I can confirm that the optical drive shouldn't be an issue, I was actually trying load the motherboard driver CD out of curiosity to see what it contained, but it appears that the CD Asus put in the box is faulty after trying it on another machine and recieving the same error. I have to admit I really didn't expect that...

    Right:
Updated the rest of my system specs and external devices
    New log zip attached

    1) No BSODs since I last reported the one caused by the Focrite driver(s).
    2) No booting problems on stock BIOS settings.
    3) No shutdown problems.
    4) I get a full system freeze mainly when playing games (although this same kind of freeze has occurred in the past while on desktop with only basic programs such as Chrome and Discord running. I have noticed in some cases, the crash can happen right after an event occurs, for example moving mouse cursor after being idle, speaking through headset after being silent or muted for some time, loud in-game, but sometimes the in-game crashes have no identifiable triggering event. Nothing makes the problem better, although I can almost guarantee a crash after running hardware intensive games for 1 hour+. Neither FurMark, Prime95 nor IPDT triggered any freezes, stuttering or errors. Both FurMark and P95 were ran for more than an hour.
    5) No issues in device manager currently, but I have uninstalled all Focusrite drivers and disconnected the box for the time being, to be reintroduced at a later stage once the system freeze issue has hopefully been resolved.
    6) Optical drive bad block message was caused by a bad disc. I have tested other discs which worked perfectly fine in the drive, and I have tested the disc which could not be read in another system which spat out the same bad block error.
    7) I don't/haven't actually used the Bluetooth adapter function of this motherboard, but despite trying many times to cleanly reinstall the drivers for the adapter I still get unexpected Bluetooth adapter problems in Windows Event Viewer. This sounds like a bad driver to me.
    8) I am fairly certain the ASIO driver is not present on the system at this time, as I cannot locate it in Device Manager.

I can try running Prime95 for the full 3 hours to see if it reproduces the problem. Fast startup is now disabled (using the batch file from the thread on this forum). I will start with P95, then an overnight run off Memtest86+ passes (if it lets me), and if none of these steps reveal any issues I will test the PSU maybe later in the week as I will be somewhat busy tomorrow.

Hopefully we're not too far from the root cause of the problem, thanks for your unfailing patience.

Ran Prime95 Stress Test for 4 hours without fail. I finally got Memtest86+ to boot using a different USB stick, so I'll leave it running until tomorrow.

When Memtest86+ is completed you will have checked most of the hardware except for the drives.
The event log had the first entry date on 10/4/2017.
On 10/9/2017 was the first entry with a drive paging error.

When the RAM testing has completed 8 or more passes please use a camera or smart phone camera to take a picture and post an image into the thread.

Then run HD Tune on all drives:

    HD Tune website
    Check the health,
    scan for errors,
no quick scan but full scan

    run a benchmark.
It may take some time, but please take the time you need to perform it properly.
When above is done please make screenshots of the following:
    the health,
    the error scan,
the benchmark including the following: transfer rate, access time, burst rate, and cpu usage.
