Mail Can't be Opened using the Built-in Administration Account

I can't use any of the panes (calendar, weather, store, etc.) on Windows 10. I receive a message "this app can't open. Mail can't be opened using the built in administration account. How to resolve this issue quickly and reliably?

  2. Mail can’t be opened using the built-in administrator account. Sign in with A different account and try again.

I did that but got a blank screen except return to Settings Arrow and No results for Change User Account Settings

Mail can’t be opened using the built-in administrator account. Sign in with A different account and try again.

    1. I am using a laptop and I am using Windows 10.

    2. I select the windows icon in the lower left corner. Then I select all apps.

I scroll down to the mail app and select it.

    3. This is the message I get:

“Mail can’t be opened using the built-in administrator account. Sign in with

A different account and try again.”

    4. I use Microsoft Live mail and I got a message from Microsoft they would no

    Longer support Microsoft Live mail.

    5. I tried the mail app as described above and it worked. A few days later when

When I tried it I started getting the above message.

    6. I signed into Windows and changed my password. That did not make any

Difference. I still get the same message.

    7. How do I sign into Windows with a different account so I can use the mail

    App in windows 10?

Mail Can't be Opened using the Built-in Administration Account

Hello Otownjer, and welcome to Ten Forums. *Smile

The built-in "Administrator" account is an elevated account. Windows apps cannot run in an elevated account.

You would need to sign in to a normal account (local or Microsoft) instead.

I can't sign in using my Microsoft account in the settings menu, even when I click on "open with a Microsoft account instead." Nothing happens. (I have a Microsoft account.)

You'll need to sign out of the built-in Administrator account first, and then sign in to your other account.

    Sign out of Windows 10

I used "option 4" to sign out of Windows 10. I then signed in using my other account, but still had the same problem even though I was no longer using the "administrator account." Also, I cannot sign in using my Microsoft account, either: the little blue circle spins and spins, but won't allow me to sign in. I noticed online that other people are experiencing that problem as well. What to do?

When I click on the store pane, the screen turns blue for a second or two and then nothing happens. I can't access the store from my regular account; I can't get to a screen which allows me to enter the information to open using my Microsoft account.
