Microsoft brings Windows 10 Timeline to Chrome with a new extension

Windows 10 Timeline was launched almost one year ago with April 2018 Update and the optional feature allows you to track what documents, web pages you’ve been working on recently. Timeline collects and organizes your activities into a single page, allowing you to quickly pick up an activity where you left off.

Windows 10 Timeline allows you to find what you were doing in the past 30 days and you can pick up any activity such as a web page to continue from where you left off. If you’ve never used it, you can access the Timeline feature by clicking on the icon ‘Task View’, located next to Cortana search box.

As noted above, Timeline is an optional feature and it can be turned off from Settings > Privacy > Activity History where you have to uncheck two options.

Microsoft recently updated Microsoft Launcher on Android to bring Timeline to Android phones. In an attempt to sync the activities from various apps, Microsoft has now released a new extension for Chrome which brings Timeline to Google’s browser.

The extension was released on February 15 and you can enable it in Chrome to see your web browsing activities across all your devices where Windows Timeline is enabled.

Microsoft says that the extension allows you to see your browsing activities across all your Windows 10 devices and even Microsoft Launcher for Android.

“With this extension, your browsing history will appear across all your devices in surfaces such as in Windows timeline and Microsoft Launcher for Android. Just sign in with your Microsoft account, select a site you’ve recently visited, and pick up where you left off,” Microsoft explains.

You can download the extension from here.
