Windows 10: Microsoft restores downloads of Windows 10 November Update

The Windows 10 media creation tool, which allows Windows users to download installation files for clean installations and upgrades, will once again allow anyone to download build 10586, a full installation package that incorporates the November Update and can be used for clean installs or upgrades...

...A new, just-released cumulative update will restore the settings for anyone who previously upgraded.

And the media creation tool will once again allow downloads of the most recent Current Branch release, in this case build 10586.

Windows 10 Fall update fails to install

Microsoft has now restored the ability to install the Fall Update using the Media Creation Tool, an ability removed 2 days ago, apparently because the Fall Update changed some settings. So there is now an option to install on demand.

I wonder whether availability over Windows Update was restricted during this period as well.

More irony for you. 10 minutes after posting the above, I read...

"Recently we learned of an issue that could have impacted an extremely small number of people who had already installed Windows 10 and applied the November update. Once these customers installed the November update, a few of their settings preferences
may have inadvertently not been retained. For these customers, we will restore their settings over the coming days and we apologize for the inconvenience. We worked to resolve the issue as quickly as possible - it will not impact future installs
of the November update, which is available today." [emphasis mine]

That is interesting, except: "We can change your settings". This is almost RAT style *Eek

 

Thanks for the heads up I'm downloading the update patch right now even though I re check all those preference and app settings with a new build or major update anyway .

Anyone know if this will be delivered thru updates or just the iso or MCT. Articles I found have indicated M$ have restored the update but my last check is up to date?
