Windows 10: missing media keys symbols

win version is win 10 64bit single language

 

Go to Start and type winver, click on it and post the result,

Try this:
DISM - Repair Windows 10 Image - Windows 10 Forums
Steps 1-5

Then run SFC / Scannnow in the Command Prompt (Admin)

Restart the machine

If that didn't help - you might want to run Dsim with step 6 or step 7 of the tutorial depending on the source (wim or esd)

 

I've seen similar with a program where all the features didn't show up until an associated file was opened in the program. Another thing that comes to mind is the possibility those circled boxes would normally be the top and bottom of the vertical scroll bar. Might be an issue with the video/display adapter.

Select Downloads and Updates
Press the Check for updates button
Select Update all

Old thread. Not sure if you ever fixed the problem. But I had exact issue and turns out its a simple fix. You just need to reinstall two system symbol font files
