    missing menu commands

Most of the times I'm getting help there are instructions for going through menus, (click something then right-click on another item) and so on. Many times I follow through then something I'm told to click ISN'T there in the menu. Why are these items missing and how can I restore them? I'm on as Administrator so shouldn't the menus be complete?

    :)

    Hi Morris,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand the inconvenience you are facing. Let me help you in resolving the issue.

Let’s follow the methods provided below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. It will scan your system files and to repair missing or corrupted system files in Windows.
To run the SFC scan, refer to the Microsoft article below.

Method 2: Create a new user account and check if the option appears in this.

To create a new user account, refer to the steps mentioned in the following Microsoft link:

    Set up accounts

    Method 3:

Click on Win key + W, Type Power Options. On the left side of the window, click on

"Choose what the power button does." Under shutdown settings, place a check mark on

    'Sleep' click on Save changes.

This last one was trying to get my IP address. I went to network connections and was said to click advanced options. It wasn't there. I checked the other menus but was nowhere.

Thanks. I got the IP but I still would like to find out why menu items aren't where they're supposed to be.

    missing menu commands

In that example, there wasn't an "Advanced options" mentioned to click on, so I'm not sure anything was missing.

I suppose that the instructions you were following may have been out of date.

Do you have any other examples we can help with?
