Windows 10: Modern Windows apps broken.

It all started when I tried to use the calculator. I pressed the calculator key on my keyboard but the calculator app didn't open. It just flashed on the screen. I tried again but no luck.
I googled and found this. I re-registered the apps and reboot my computer.
Calculator didn't work nor did any other apps. I also discovered that all apps had strange names. For example store is something like:
@{Microsoft.WindowsStore_2015... etc.
I tried re-registering and rebooting again. Trying to open calculator with keyboard gives an error. My OS is not in English but I try to translate it. "You need a new application to open link type calculator."

Is there anything I can do but a clean install of Windows?

Some Modern Apps are broken

Actually I've been having this problem for quite some time now, but I think I'd better have this fixed now.

As said by the title, some of my Windows 10 Modern Apps are broken, including Store, Camera, Photos and some more. They can't be opened and don't show their icons (just blank square tiles). This is an example of it :





Clicking on the tiles gives the "bouncy" feedback, but then nothing happens. Not even a window popped up.

I'm constantly updated (now Build 10586.104) and I've tried running PowerShell commands that are suggested over the internet and some DISM and SFC repair commands as well, but they didn't seem to work for me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Some Modern Apps are broken

The best way to cure this would be to do a repair Install which keeps everything and reinstall windows.More here:

I find when there is a pending update to the modern windows apps they won't work correctly. Then navigate to store and generally can see an update waiting. It then updates and seems to work fine. I've had it before where photos or calculator flash on screen and then disappear. I then see the updates are lurking. So basically a looming update seems to break functionality until you actually go and update.

I have seen this mentioned a few times that re registering apps on the latest build breaks them

Looking at your example, it looks like the store is broken also (I assume you cannot get into the store)

Unless someone knows a better way, a repair install might be the only way to get things running
