thank you. I'm running RealTemp and all four cores are 43-47c with not much of a load. I will try to put some load on the system as well.
But my BSOD crashes have not come with much load. I"ll have only a handfull of MS apps, web browser run and it can crash.
I've enable logging so that if it does crash I can go in and see what the temp is. I've set the log for 60 secs

I went upstairs for lunch and came down and the system had crashed, again. The cpu temps were pretty low.
    DATE TIME MHz CPU_0 CPU_1 CPU_2 CPU_3 LOAD%
    09/06/15 12:16:00 1603.63 47 45 46 42 1.4
I've got dumps if you want to look at them.
Just as an experiment I'm going to shuffle my memory chips and then take another shot or two at memtest86+
I'm attaching dm log if your interested.

    Thanks axe0.
I'm taking my system down now to play with simms.

I have 6 2 GB SIMM's. 3 Corsair's which I put in when I originally built the system in 2009. Then I added 3 Crucial this last december
I swapped my SIMM's around, started to run memtest86+ and the screen went blank in less than five minutes
I then removed my older Corsair's and ran memtest86+ for about 8 mins and blank screen. 2nd attempt about 3 mins before blank screen.
Before I continue down this path of playing with memory configurations I'd like to l know what either of you can tell me about this memtest86+. I understand that it takes awhile to run 8 passes. over night I'm told.
What should I expect with regards to the monitor staying on. Should it? if it does go off should I be able to wake it up?
If it was a memory issue wouldn't the program just report errors as opposed to hanging, it that's what it's doing.
instead could I be dealing with a different problem like motherboard?
What is your experience with memory issues and running memtest86+

The screen should stay on. You should never mix ram. Ram should be bought in kits. Try taking the new memory out and running just the old memory. Make sure the correct Frequency, timings and Dram voltage is set in bios. That information is on a sticker on the side of the ram sticks or on the package they came in.

If it won't run with the 3 old sticks in, try running it with just 1 stick. Yes, it has to run a minimum of 8 passes to completely check the ram. Each pass tests something different and each pass consists of 10 tests. Each test checks something different.

I guess it is possible that the monitor has a sleep setting on it. None of mine do, but in theory it is possible.

Dang, Sure enough. I read the P6T user guide and it said they recommend DIMM's from the same manufacture. The sales clerk at Micro Center said it was okay as long as they were in matched sets.
I'll swap in the originals and try running the test.

That rule applies to any board. Make sure the timings, frequency and Dram Voltage is set correctly in BIOS.

everything looks to be set to Auto. You are saying that I should set these manually instead of auto?
    I found the frequency
There is qpi/dram core voltage and dram bus voltage. Not sure what the difference is and which to set.
There is a DRAM Timing Control, and that section is really confusing. I haven't figured that out yet.

Oh, And while I was in Bios and reading the user guide the screen went blank on me twice.
I tired running memtest86+ on the three old with the same hang.
I'm not sure I can go down to 1 DIMM. The spec says 2 DIMM is the smallest "recommended" configuration. It doesn't say if 1 DIMM is supported or not.

Make sure you watch your GPU Temps closely and run Furmark GPU Stress test. FurMark - GPU Stress Test. The temps will go up very high and very fast. If they get too high, stop the test. Watch as the stop risisg and level out. It will only take a few minutes. But keep a close watch on the GPU Temps.

okay. I read the site and it says 80c and tomshardware says the same.

Carl, I don't know for sure, but I believe 100°C. But, yours being a little older and suspecting problems with it anyway, I would try to keep it below 80°C.

OK, then I would lower that a little for the reasons stated above.

The alarm went off right away. I've spent most of this time just figuring out how to read the output. I thought this was a "CPU" test but realized it was a Graphics card test.
The log and the screen are completely different. I"m attaching both

Thinking about this, there could be a problem with my video card, which could be the reason for my screen going blank on the seagtools and memtest86+, but then behind that there still might be a memory or motherboard issue, which is causing the BSOD's.
    hmmm.... interesting.
