Windows 10: My annoying M/S account prompt

That's ok. You can open the Store app to see if you are currently signed in to it. If you are signed in to it with the closed MSA account, then that could be the issue. The tutorial below can help show you more on this.

Store app ?? I dont have tile set up on my w10, I converted it with Classic Shell, so have desktop showing

 

In that case, you can open Run (Win+R), enter the command below, and click/tap on OK to open the Store app instead.

Did that, all I got was all the apps, like Netflix etc etc, no mention of store, although I was probably in the store?

 

Yep, that would be the Store like below you are viewing them in.

If you don't plan on using the Store, then you don't need to do anything. If you do, then you'll need to be signed in to the Store with your MSA.

I have done first option, so will see if it works, but I must ask, as it was so simple, and reason we could not have done this option from the start?? if it does work/or not, I am very grateful for your help.

 

I wasn't aware of this setting could cause that under certain conditions when you first asked.

The problem is that app syncing wants a MSA that you don't have, and is usually why you get the error.

You mentioned that you turned off one of the settings, but double check that both are turned off to rule this out.
