You can move all your User files. A/K/A C:/Users/Donn/ Documents, pictures, favorites, music, videos and everything else in that folder except AppData. Those are what I was talking about. I do that with mine. That shouldn't make any difference if those were moved, depending on what method you used to move them. As long as you can boot without the other two drives connected, leave them attached if you want to.

You can't move C:/Users, but you can move (relocate) all of the folders inside.

Tomorrow is another day. I will uninstall Norton and X10 & unplug the x10 hardware interface and run a "Repair Install of Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade" using a mounted <Win10_1511_1_English_x64.iso> file.

Just make sure the ISO is the same version of Windows you have installed. Be sure and let us know how it goes. Before you start calling us wonderful, let's see if it works. *Smile

I'm getting ready for the Repair Install and am about to uninstall Norton. After that should I turn on Windows Defender? I've already downloaded the files (on & off) from Brink.

Make sure you use the Norton Uninstall app .....you can get it from Norton. *Smile

Just need to know if I should turn ON Windows Defender or leave it OFF

 

Remove Norton 1st .....then you can turn on Defender. *Smile

The good news is it ran smoothly and almost all of my settings remained intact. I did have to turn on System Protection and configure System Restore
and verified Windows\Minidump was selected in Advanced Protection
and had to create the Minidump Folder

I'm running on Windows Defender Only for awhile to keep Norton out of the picture.
I'm running without my X-10 Home Automation Program to keep that out of the picture.

Then I tried to get to System Restore from Shift-Restart and got the same error message:
"Your PC ran into a problem ..."
"... you can search online for this error: WDF_VIOLATION"

Then I tried to get into Safe Mode to do a System Restore via Shift-Restart and got the same App won't run error. Canceled that and opened System to find System Protection was not there.

Then I ran a new DM Log and can see the Minidump Folder is empty.

And:

So. I'm OK, everything else seems to work fine; but obviously I still have a problem (or 2?)

Please right click on the start flag, select Device Manager and see if there are any yellow triangles or gray exclamation marks on anything.

 

Also, please see if the X10nets is in add/remove programs. It is still in your system In the Task List

Also, look in Task Manager, startup tab and see if it is set to run at startup, if so disable it.

 

I have asked someone else to come take a look at the files. My only explanation is it could be a problem with your installation. You do not have the System Reserved partition (your Drive Q) All of the boot files were moved to the C drive. Some of the recovery functions are sometimes contained there. Either that or the X10 is causing the problems. Your error is a WDF which is Windows Driver Foundation, usually meaning a bad driver.

 

Device Managers show no warning. Sending all expanded in 3 .jpg files.

X10nets were deleted by me as shown in 4th attachment.
X-10, Active Home Install files still exist on secondary Hard Drive:
D:\z Install Files Win7 & 10\ActiveHome Pro 3.318 New 160321
