My Windows 10 installation is highly unstable.

My Win 10 installation which I did from the net is highly unstable. It freezes up constantly at different times after I reach the Desktop. I am unable to do anything with it. My games freeze up and exit, my internet freezes,... I'm really very frustrated and at a loss what to do. Please help me, someone.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 highly unstable

This is not a question, just a statement. I have used Microsoft's products for years without issue. I recommend Windows over anything else because its familiar and easy to use and a damn good platform to both learn on and create on, however, my recent experiences
have caused me to change my mind about this. I was not going to waste my time here, but i think i need to else Microsoft wont learn a damn thing. My current hardware uses the X79 Intel chipset, and i purchased Windows 8.1 pro to begin learning software development.
As stated before i was a Microsoft enthusiast. I willingly went for the Windows 10 free upgrade figuring the OS would be better than 8.1.

Well, a few short days after the upgrade i started getting bluescreen issues, mostly kernal power issues(never could figure out the cause). Nothing that i could fix myself, so i ignored the issues figuring an update would solve my problem. I thought i was
correct here when i got build 1511, holy crap, no more stability issues, gaming was great and i could learn development and use my machine for long periods of time. Then one day i noticed a forced restart due to an update. I got the Anniversary Update build
1607. This build was used for almost a whole year. But during that time i had continuous issues, only corrected by clean install or restore points. Software development was out of the question and gaming was the only thing i could use this system for. I figured
out how to fix some of these stability issues myself, but these fixes were always short lived as every signle day an update would reverse the work i had done, so i gave up on it. Finally my system corrupted when i installed a new HDD(exactly the same as the
other one in my machine). Windows was trying to read as a RAID device but i had RAID disabled in the UEFI and the bluescreens were happening daily now . The problems compounded even more when i re imaged all the way back to build 1511, which for a few days
was perfect and 0 problems. i liked it this was and even contacted microsoft support to disable automatic updates so i could reliably use my computer. Support disabled the service responsible for auto updates and GAURUNTEED it wouldn't update to the newer
builds. He was wrong, as my windows DID infact try to update, got corrupted and once again i had to clean install. Luckily my data was on another HDD. So by this point i had the Creators update build 1706, and i was having so many bluescreen issues and then(after
just 2 days since the clean install) windows updated alot of my drivers including my display driver(there was nothing wrong with Nvidias driver, why force a generic display driver?) and when it restarted, i refused to properly boot, appearantly my boot sector
was overwritten, so i went into the recovery environment and i couldn't even sign into my Microsoft account in the recovery environment, even after a password change it refused to sign in. my only option was yet another clean install. This time all my data
accross all drives could no longer be accessed. Performing a clean install corrupted all my data completely, and this never happened before. So i decided to make my last purchase to Microsoft EVER! I bought windows 8.1, and downloaded the media creation tool
on windows 10 one last time. Im now using windows 8.1 pro until it goes end of life. I really enjoy using it, by far much more stable and reliable than the entire 2 years i used windows 10. AND NO FORCED UPDATES. im honestly afraid to turn on auto updates
due to the terrible stability issues i had with windows 10, and i have used windows xp, vista, 7 in the past with updates turned on. These past 2 weeks have been VERY productive, i turned auto updated off indefinately and found a way to disable maintenance
to avoid lock up, otherwise 0 issues, bluescreens gone, no more kernel power errors, no more driver corruption. It should be noted that i use trusted software including Microsoft Visual Studio. As stated before i prefer Microsoft's products, but after this
experience i will NEVER invest in the future of windows. I am already test driving various Linux OS's and may even consider MAC OSX for software support. I think it would be in Microsofts best interest to scrap windows 10 and build a fresh new OS which doesn't
cause these kinds of issues, My brother's laptop bricked because it updated to the creators update.(automatically updated) He used an older Sony Vaio and we checked the manufacturers website for window 10 support, his model was not supported. Why force an
update for a computer which is not compatible? At least i can still use my machine, his laptop is fried. Terrible support, terrible experience. I dont need to hear about everybody else's great experience using windows 10, some chipsets are supported better
and windows 10 works fine for those machines, in my experience, my chipset is not meant for windows 10 and actually performs better with 8.1. This kind of check and guess compatibility is garbage. Microsoft, i was once a big enthusiast now I'm preparing to
migrate to BETTER and more STABLE environments to work in.

  3. Highly Unstable Wifi Connection

Do you encounter connection problems using an ethernet cable connection between computer and router? Is the router close to another electrical appliance?

Please provide more information so that the cause of your problem may be diagnosed.

Please restart your computer and allow 20 minutes for the system to run before uploading information required to help me investigate your problem. When examining Event Viewer log files many, not all, problems show in the period immediately after
    the computer has been booted.

Please provide a copy of your System Information file. To access your System Information file select the keyboard shortcut
    Win+R, type msinfo32
and click OK . Place the cursor on
System Summary. Select File, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Click Save.
Files in the txt file format are preferred.Do not place the cursor within the body of the report before exporting the file. The system creates
a new System Information file each time system information is accessed. You need to allow a minute or two for the file to be fully populated before exporting a copy. Please upload the file to your OneDrive, share with everyone and post a link here. If the
report is in a language other than English, please state the language.

Please upload to your OneDrive and share with everyone a copy of your
System log file from your Event Viewer and post a link here. Please remove any earlier copies of the logs from your OneDrive.

To access the System log select the keyboard shortcut Win+R, type
eventvwr.msc and press the ENTER key. From the list in the left side of the window select Windows Logs and System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and
Save All Events as (the default evtx file type) and give the file a name. Do not provide filtered files.
Do not place the cursor in the list of reports before selecting Action from the menu. Do
not clear logs whilst you have a continuing problem.

For help with OneDrive see paragraph 9.3:

Assuming your "unstable" Windows 10 is activated.

Please use the Tech Bench link to download YOUR version of Windows 10
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/soft...load/techbench

scroll down to Select Edition > click the pointer at the right and select your edition of Windows 10 > click Confirm.
click the pointer and select Language > make sure you pick the same language the computer is now running > click Confirm
select the bit version, 32 or 64-bit. Make sure you select the same bit version as the computer is now running.
at the bottom, click the pointer next to Save > click Save As > navigate to a folder of your choice > click the chosen folder > click Save
The iso will start downloading to your chosen folder.
When it is done, go to that folder > open the folder > right click at the iso file > click Mount > click Setup.exe
    Installation will begin.
It will allow you to keep you files, settings and apps.
    No product key is required.
    Activation will be automatic.

Hopefully, after this, your Windows 10 will be ok.

  6. Welcome aboard, Sujeet.

There are many possible explanations, so there are many possible cures.

Work your way to "Settings." From there, choose "Updates and Security." If you have updates stuck there, allow them to install now, and then walk away for a while 10 straightens itself out.

Check the Task manager and set values to percentages on all to see if something's out of whack.

  14. Really man? I disabled that AI nonsense in my first go with windows 10. I knew it will be too annoying and privacy corrupting. You should have disabled it on your install and if you didn't, then well, it's not gonna go away. All you should be left with is a lens with a tail. Like a magnifying lens on the taskbar and if it's a circle alone, your cortana AI is still active.

You are advising people based on your personal opinion. There are a lot of people who like and use Cortana. That is something for them to decide, not you. Your information is also incorrect. You can show, or hide the search box with or without Cortana installed. Search Icon or Box - Show or Remove on Windows 10 Taskbar - Windows 10 Forums

    With Cortana enabled
