    No wi-fi connection

This isn't specifically about Win10, but maybe someone can help. This morning when I tried to go online with Wi-Fi on my desktop, it said there was no connection. Something about no IP name. It worked fine last night. The modem is not the problem, it worked fine on my tablet. I have been running the Wi-Fi thru a small router that plugs into the front of the computer. I pushed the button on the side of it several times but got no results. The modem and computer are now back working on DSL. Could the router be the problem?

    :)

Wi-Fi Connection Error. Can't Connect to One Specific Wi-Fi

Windows10. There are some usable Wi-Fi in a house, but I cannot connect to one specific Wi-Fi. When I try to connect that Wi-Fi it says "can't connect this network" even though my phone and other devices can connect to that Wi-Fi. If I unplug the Wi-Fi
router and re-plug in after 10 to 15 second, I can connect that Wi-Fi. However, it sometimes stops suddenly while I am using that. Then I need to reconnect to that Wi-Fi but can't do it unless unplug and re-plug in again. I tried troubleshooting but didn't
work. I can use and connect to other Wi-Fi but I don't know why this specific Wi-Fi can't be connected.

  3. Wifi

Are you trying to connect to a home Wi-Fi or does this happen to any Wi-Fi connection? Have you tried connecting to a free Wi-Fi hotspot?

I suggest you check to see if any Windows updates happened last night or this morning, there might be something that broke your wifi. Delete the update and see if wifi is restored
Windows Update History - View in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Tutorials

If there are no updates have a look to see if you have a recent Restore Point from when you know the wifi was working and restore that
System Restore Windows 10 - Windows 10 Tutorials

If both those don't help then I suggest you search the web for problems with the router you use, there may simply be a driver download or whatever to fix the problem

    Good luck *Smile

there seems to be a problem with Hybrid Shutdown after Windows Update. You can solve the problem by holding down shift when pressing shutdown. After it should be ok

If the solution of knorre does not work.

Run these networking commands in a command prompt window
In the search box on the taskbar, type Command prompt, press and hold (or right-click) Command prompt, and then select Run as administrator > Yes.
At the command prompt, run the following commands in the listed order, and then check to see if that fixes your connection problem:

    • Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
    • Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
    • Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
Reboot your system with hold down Shift + shutdown

if this does not work( us the command prompt as above)
    • Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
    • Type netsh int ip reset and press Enter.

Shift + restart takes you to boot options menu. This also worked on one client:
    netsh int ip reset
    ipconfig /flushdns

    No wi-fi connection

No updates later than a month ago. Better refresh my memory on where the restore points are. It worked fine on Tuesday, so I won't have to go back very far.

I found the restore points and went back to last month, when the Wi-Fi was still working. I reconnected the router. The control panel says the connection is secure and connected when I tried to get online via wireless rather than DSL, but the icon on the bottom is still the DSL one. Do I have to disconnect the DSL cable in order to use the Wi-Fi or does it matter? The control panel lists both internet connections.
